Previously, on April 24, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 821 to transfer and appoint Major General Nguyen Ba Luc - Commander of the 34th Corps to hold the position of Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA); on the same day, the Minister of National Defense signed Decision No. 133 to transfer and appoint Lieutenant General Dao Tuan Anh - Deputy Director of the National Defense Academy to hold the position of Commander of the 34th Corps. At the conference, Major General Nguyen Ba Luc handed over the position of Commander of the 34th Corps to Lieutenant General Dao Tuan Anh.
Speaking at the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong, Deputy Minister of National Defense, requested Major General Nguyen Ba Luc, in his new position, to continue to strive to study, practice, and promote his knowledge and practical experience, promptly advise the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, and the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army on policies and solutions to build agencies and units in the entire army to meet the requirements and tasks of protecting the Fatherland in the new situation, and exchange and share experiences in managing and commanding key units, especially the 34th Corps, with the new Commander of the 34th Corps, Dao Tuan Anh.
Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong congratulated and believed that Lieutenant General Dao Tuan Anh, in his new position, would quickly approach, inherit and promote the achievements of the 34th Corps; together with the Party Committee and the Corps Command, propose policies and measures to lead common tasks, especially in training, combat readiness, and build the 34th Corps "elite, compact, and strong". “Lieutenant General Dao Tuan Anh is a cadre with good qualities and abilities, having held many positions in the Military Region and the National Defense Academy. However, with the main, strategic mobile unit of the Ministry having different requirements from the Military Region and the Academy, Lieutenant General Dao Tuan Anh should uphold his sense of responsibility, focus on researching, reviewing, and grasping the situation in all aspects of the unit; closely following the resolutions on the leadership of the 2025 tasks of the Central Military Commission and the resolutions of the Party Committee of the 34th Corps, focusing on reviewing the assigned tasks, having solutions to improve combat readiness, training quality, building discipline, strengthening internal solidarity and resolving relationships with Party committees, authorities and people in the stationed area” - Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong emphasized.
Speaking at the conference, the new Commander of the 34th Corps Dao Tuan Anh thanked the attention of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, agencies, localities, and units and promised that in his new position, he would be determined, strive, constantly study, practice, and cultivate moral qualities to excellently complete assigned tasks, maintain stability in the unit; together with the Party Committee and the 34th Corps Command, unite, promote traditions, and build a politically strong Corps with high overall quality and combat strength.
