Lieutenant Le Huy Hoang: Dream of continuing family tradition, becoming Uncle Ho's soldier

Le Huy Hoang with an "absolutely cinematic" body and face was born into a family where both his parents were soldiers, and his paternal and maternal grandparents were members of the Communist Party of Vietnam .

Since he was a child, Hoang has always cherished a burning dream, which is to grow up and continue the family tradition, to wear the green military uniform like his parents, to become Uncle Ho's soldier.

Lieutenant Le Huy Hoang received a certificate of merit from the head of the Ministry of National Defense at the ceremony to commend university-level platoon-level officer training students, valedictorians, excellent graduates, and first prize winners in national and international competitions in the 2024-2025 school year, on September 13, 2025.

In 2021, Le Huy Hoang was admitted to the Heroic Army Officer School 1 - which has trained nearly 120,000 officers for the Army, of which more than 400 comrades were promoted to the rank of general; 38 comrades were awarded the title of Hero of the Armed Forces, Hero of Labor. Hoang shared that: Studying at a school with a long tradition is a great honor and to become an army command and staff officer, students are required to have very high training in both intelligence and physical strength.

When asked about the secret to achieving high academic results, Le Huy Hoang revealed: “During the learning process, with many new subjects and difficult content, I often boldly asked for opinions from commanders, lecturers and discussed with comrades and teammates in the squad and platoon, to determine for myself a suitable and effective learning method. I also actively participated in clubs: "Study groups", "Pairs of friends progressing together", "English Club", "Night lights for extra study after hours"... organized by the unit. Studying in groups helped me quickly systematize my knowledge and deeply remember the content of each lecture".

For practical content on techniques and tactics, Hoang paid attention to observing, mastering sample movements, points of attention conveyed by the lecturer, regularly volunteering to speak up and participate in exercises, handling situations in tactical learning to improve his practical ability. Therefore, the quality of Hoang's learning of practical content was constantly improved, his commanding style and method became more and more mature, bold and decisive.

Along with studying the contents, Hoang actively participated in scientific research. During his 4 years at school, he won 3 Creative Youth Awards in the Army. With his own efforts and endeavors, during the course, Lieutenant Le Huy Hoang was awarded the title of Emulation Fighter of the whole Army, was elected Emulation Fighter of the base 4 times; the average score of the whole course was 8.32...

According to Lieutenant Le Huy Hoang, the results and achievements of studying and training at school are only the initial provisions. They are truly useful and valuable when fully utilized in practical work, in performing duties and tasks, and must be supplemented and developed regularly.

After graduating from school, having the honor to stay at the Army Officer School 1 to work, Hoang realized that his responsibility must be even higher in the work of managing, commanding, training and educating soldiers. Therefore, Hoang promised himself to continue to strive to study, practice, cultivate political qualities, maintain moral lifestyle, improve all aspects of qualifications, accumulate experience, to successfully complete the tasks in the assigned positions and responsibilities.

Currently, Lieutenant Le Huy Hoang is practicing at Company 5, Battalion 8, Regiment 98, Infantry Division 316, Military Region 2. This is a very important time for him to have practical experience and improve his knowledge in all aspects.
