Da Nang City Medical College focuses on training high-quality human resources, linking training with output.

DNO - That was the direction of Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan at the ceremony announcing the decision to change the name of the Da Nang City Medical College, which took place on the morning of November 14.

Da Nang Medical College, formerly known as Quang Nam Medical Staff School, Quang Da Medical Staff School, was established in 1961. During the years of resistance war against the US to save the country, the school had the mission of training medical staff to serve the battlefield of Military Region V, contributing greatly to the cause of protecting the Fatherland and taking care of the health of soldiers and people.

After the country's reunification, the school changed its name and scale many times to suit the requirements of its tasks in each stage of development. In 1997, after the province was divided, the school was named Quang Nam Medical High School. In 2006, the school was upgraded to Quang Nam Medical College. From October 15, 2025, Quang Nam Medical College has a new name: Da Nang Medical College.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements and great contributions of the school in the cause of health care for the people; the work of training human resources in the health sector of the country. At the same time, he acknowledged the efforts and determination of the school, generations of leaders, teachers, and the school has made comprehensive development steps.

Vice Chairman of the City Tran Anh Tuan emphasized that up to now, the city has also paid attention and actively invested resources for the school to purchase teaching and learning equipment, serving the management and operation work. The school needs to promote attracting social resources in the investment of facilities, towards sustainable development.

The school needs to focus on building and developing its brand, promoting its mission in training quality medical human resources. That mission does not only stop at the former Quang Nam area but is also broader, larger, for a developed Da Nang.
