Dong Thap University has its first new professor and celebrates Teachers' Day

Awarding the symbol to support the title of Professor and Associate Professor of Dong Thap University.

Dong Thap University is one of 14 key higher education institutions training teachers in the country. The school has more than half a century of tradition in teacher training and more than 2 decades of developing multidisciplinary training, contributing to the socio -economic development of the Mekong Delta and the whole country.

Currently, the school has 536 lecturers including 319 masters, 217 doctors, including 1 professor and 22 associate professors. The school has a training scale of more than 21,500 students (including nearly 2,000 graduate students and doctoral students).

Associate Professor, Dr. Ho Van Thong, Principal of Dong Thap University, said: Dong Thap University is gradually becoming a center of education, training and scientific research in the Mekong Delta region and the whole country.

Every achievement today is the result of the sweat, effort and persistent belief of the school community. The teacher does not “do it for” but creates a foundation; does not “impose” but guides and opens up; is the one who inspires, awakens critical thinking and self-learning ability.

Associate Professor, Dr. Ho Van Thong, Rector of Dong Thap University, spoke at the ceremony.

In 2025, the school will have 6 programs that meet the training quality accreditation standards according to the decision of the Center for Education Quality Assessment - Hanoi National University; 2 programs (including physics pedagogy and biology pedagogy) that meet the 5-star application-oriented standard according to the UPM Comparison Ranking Standards according to the decision of the UPM Institute of Innovation.

In 2025, the school will have 2 officials approved by the State Council of Professors as meeting the standards for the titles of Professor and Associate Professor.

This is the first time Dong Thap University has had an official achieve the title of Professor (Mr. Huynh Vinh Phuc, Vice Principal of the Pedagogical School, Dong Thap University). At the ceremony, the school awarded a support symbol with the title of Professor of 500 million VND, Associate Professor of 250 million VND.

Students presented flowers to express gratitude to leaders, former leaders of the province, schools, and education experts.

On this occasion, the Minister of Education and Training awarded Certificates of Merit to 1 collective and 1 individual of Dong Thap University for their outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "Innovation and creativity in management, teaching and learning".
