Hanoi Pedagogical University establishes 3 new schools, adds many training majors

Hanoi National University of Education established three new universities: University of Early Childhood Development Sciences, University of Educational Sciences, and University of Mathematics and Information Technology.

The newly established schools under the Hanoi University of Education have the following functions and responsibilities:

The University of Child Development Sciences focuses on comprehensive research concerning young children, from physiology and nutrition to developmental psychology, education , and care. The university also undertakes the task of implementing interventions and therapies for children with special needs.

The University of Educational Sciences positions itself as a key training and research center, a place for developing and transferring knowledge in the field of educational science.

The University of Mathematics and Information Technology aims to become a modern training and research center, approaching international standards in the fields of mathematics and information technology, promoting the development of science, technology, and education in the context of digital transformation.

The establishment of new schools aims to implement the Prime Minister's Decision on the planning of the network of higher education and teacher training institutions for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.

The draft plan for the network of higher education and teacher training institutions for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 (excluding schools under the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of National Defense, and teacher training colleges) by the Ministry of Education and Training projects that by 2030, the whole country will have approximately 250 higher education institutions and 50 branches, belonging to about 200 main institutions, distributed across regions.

These include approximately 30 key national institutions, comprising 5 national universities, 5 regional universities, and 18-20 key specialized and multinational universities.

Nationwide, there are 11 universities, including: Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City; Thai Nguyen University; Hue University; Da Nang University; Hanoi University of Technology; Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics; National Economics University; Can Tho University; Duy Tan University; and Phenikaa University.

It is projected that by 2030, Hue University, Da Nang University, and Hanoi University of Science and Technology will develop into national universities.
