University of Economics and Law: Tuition fees range from 35.8 to 73.5 million VND for the 2026-2027 academic year.

For the 2026-2027 academic year, the University of Economics and Law (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City) is expected to charge tuition fees ranging from 35.8 to 73.5 million VND per year, depending on the training program.

The University of Economics and Law (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City) has outlined its own admission formula for candidates who participate in or do not participate in, or only participate in, the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City's aptitude test when applying to the university this year.

On the afternoon of February 15th, immediately after the Ministry of Education and Training issued the admission regulations, the University of Economics and Law (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City) announced its official admission information for 2026. This included information on the projected tuition fees for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Accordingly, the tuition fees are expected to be divided into three groups of training programs. Specifically, these include: programs taught and learned in Vietnamese at 35.8 million VND/student; the semi-English Co-op program at 55 million VND/student; and programs taught and learned in English at 73.5 million VND/student.

6 subject combinations for admission

This year, the university is recruiting 3,200 students for its degree programs. Notably, new majors include: digital economics (economics major), accounting and data analytics (accounting major), and law and technology (law major). The university is also recruiting for new majors under the Co-operative Education program, with part-time English instruction, including: financial technology and management information systems.

Six subject combinations are used for admission consideration across all majors/specializations: A00 (Mathematics - Physics - Chemistry); D01 (Mathematics - English - Literature); A01 (Mathematics - English - Physics); D01 (Mathematics - English - Chemistry); X25 (Mathematics - English - Economic and Legal Education ); X26 (Mathematics - English - Informatics).

2 admission methods

This year, the school will only use two admission methods: Direct admission and priority direct admission according to the Ministry of Education and Training's admission regulations (maximum 5%); and comprehensive admission based on scores from the aptitude test, high school graduation exam, academic transcripts, etc.

In this method, the combined admissions process has the following general formula:

The school notes that the maximum score for the combined admission method is 100 points.

Competency assessment score = Competency assessment test score x 100/1200.

High school graduation exam score (converted) = Total score of high school graduation exams according to subject combination * 100/30.

Converted academic transcript score = Total average score of subjects in high school according to the chosen subject combination * 100/30. The subject combination used for admission consideration is the average academic performance score for the entire year of grades 10, 11, and 12.

The conversion factor 𝛂 and the weights 𝞫 ₁ , 𝞫 ₂ ; 𝞫 ₃ are determined by the admissions committee based on the application and enrollment rates, and academic results at the university level using the corresponding methods over the past three years. The expected implementation schedule is as follows:

Note regarding recruitment sources and bonus points.

The total bonus points and priority points for regional candidates shall not exceed 10% of the maximum score on the admission scale (maximum 10 points on a 100-point scale). Specifically, candidates graduating from high schools on the list of 149 priority schools as stipulated by the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City will receive 5 bonus points. International admission certificate points will be converted according to the university's regulations. Priority points for regional candidates will be based on the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training. The conversion of bonus points for international English certificates is detailed in the following table:

Notably, applicants must have a total score of at least 50 points out of 100 in the three subjects of the high school graduation exam corresponding to their chosen subject combination (this does not apply to candidates who are granted special consideration or exempt from the graduation exam). For applicants applying to law-related fields, the entrance threshold will be determined by the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Justice .

In addition, the school also enrolls students in international joint programs with degrees awarded by foreign partner universities, including: international business, and business administration (specializing in marketing).
