Technology investment

Established in 1997, Loc Ninh Ethnic Boarding School - Secondary School (PTDTNT-THCS) in Loc Ninh commune, Dong Nai province is a specialized educational institution with 10 ethnic groups and 168 students from communes in remote, isolated and border areas in the commune studying at the school.

In 2022, the new school will be rebuilt spacious and clean with a total cost of 50 billion VND, including items such as: classroom block, administrative block and combined library, dormitory block, public housing block, cafeteria, kitchen, etc.

Once completed and put into use, the project will create conditions for ethnic minority children to study and train in a good environment, contributing to creating quality human resources for the locality.

In particular, the school has smart classrooms, enabling 100% of students to use computers. With spacious, modern facilities, ethnic minority students have the opportunity to experience and practice intuitive, rich and attractive knowledge.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Tu, Math teacher (Loc Ninh Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities) shared that the model of teaching Math on computers at the school has been implemented for the past 4 years. From the 2024-2025 school year, there will be smart classrooms, intuitive learning, making it easy to learn, easy to absorb and create excitement for learners. In addition to Math, other subjects, especially natural sciences , also use smart classrooms to teach and practice right on the computer.

Since the 2015-2016 school year, the school has been fully equipped with a pentatonic musical instrument set with main instruments belonging to 5 sound groups: bronze, iron, wood, leather and wind. Therefore, in addition to Khmer songs, the children here also practice other songs about the country, homeland and people of Vietnam. The school also has a lithophone set for the children to exchange, study and learn more about the cultural values ​​of many different ethnic groups.

Ms. Vu Thi Quynh Anh, Music Teacher, said that thanks to the full investment in musical instruments, in addition to the main team, it has attracted many interested students to join. The school also creates conditions for the band to serve on major occasions of the school, the locality and the education sector.

“Maintaining and promoting traditional cultural values ​​with musical instruments is an invisible thread connecting ethnic communities together,” said Ms. Quynh Anh.

Comprehensive development

The application of technology in teaching and learning combined with regional cultural identity education at school has been widely welcomed and enthusiastically received by students. Chu Hoang Kinh, a student of class 8A1, is a Nung ethnic group, and is excited to learn the pentatonic scale as well as learn more about the Khmer people through musical notes and lectures from teachers.

“Studying at school, I not only gain knowledge and cultural traits of my own people, but also have the opportunity to understand more deeply the cultural traditions of the ethnic communities in our country. I see that every ethnic group has unique cultural traits that diversify the colors of Vietnam’s ethnic groups,” said Hoang Kinh.

Students studying at Loc Ninh Ethnic Boarding School - Secondary School have access to new technology, experience intuitive learning models, but still have their national pride nurtured in every class and every extracurricular activity.

Recently, the school's staff and teachers participated in a training conference on "Application of artificial intelligence technology in teaching and educational management" organized by the Department of Education and Training of Dong Nai province. This is considered a practical activity, contributing to improving teachers' capacity to apply technology in the digital transformation era.

The application of artificial intelligence technology is considered a new tool, helping teachers to have new thinking, opening up many opportunities to innovate teaching methods and effective management. Teachers of Loc Ninh Ethnic Minority Boarding School - Secondary School said that they are always ready to learn, adapt, and innovate to keep up with modern educational trends.

According to Ms. Bui Thi Lien, Principal of Loc Ninh Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, in recent years, the school has always focused on investing in construction, creating conditions for ethnic minority children to study and practice in a good environment, contributing to creating quality human resources for the locality with achievements higher year after year.

In the 2024-2025 school year, the rate of good and excellent students will reach over 80%, 100% of students will go straight to the next grade and graduate from junior high school. The school is considered a trusted educational address for the locality and society.
