According to statistics from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, the city currently has 20 schools teaching bilingual programs or programs from the UK, US, Canada, and Australia, commonly known as international schools.
These schools are planning to enroll students for the 2023-2024 school year. Most international schools plan to increase tuition fees by VND10-90 million/year compared to last year. Specifically, at preschool level, tuition fees range from VND122-487 million/year, primary school is about VND126-599 million/year, secondary and high school from VND210-923 million.
International School of Ho Chi Minh City (ISHCMS).
Ho Chi Minh City International School (ISHCMC) is always among the schools with the highest tuition fees in Ho Chi Minh City and across the country. In 2023 - 2024, tuition fees for grades 11 and 12 reached a record of 932.6 million VND/year, an increase of 61.3 million VND compared to the 2022 - 2023 school year. Tuition fees from grades 1 to 10 range from 624 to 809 million VND/year.
At the same time, to maintain the annual study, parents will have to pay an additional 67.5 million VND/year (paid separately each year from grade 1 to 12) and 337.5 million VND if paying for the entire course from grade 1 to 10. Thus, the total amount parents have to pay for their children to study at this school can be up to 1 billion VND/school year.
Vietnam Australia International School (VAIS), the highest tuition fee for the 2023-2024 school year is for grade 12 at over VND498 million/year. The tuition fee for grade 1 is also VND247 million/year, an increase of more than VND20 million compared to the previous school year.
Renaissance Saigon International School is one of the schools with the strongest tuition increase for the 2023-2024 school year. For preschool, the highest level is 360 million VND/year, for primary school from 491 - 556 million VND/year (increasing gradually from grade 1 to grade 5). Compared to last year, the tuition fee for the 2023-2024 school year increased by about 50 million VND.
International School of North America (SNA), for the 2023-2024 school year, tuition fees from grades 1 to 12 in different programs range from VND 463 million/year to VND 732 million/year, an increase of about VND 30 million compared to the 2022-2023 school year.
Some bilingual schools teaching the Cambridge program also recorded an increase in tuition fees. For example, at the British Vietnamese International School (BVIS), from grades 1 to 12, tuition fees in the 2023-2024 school year range from VND435 - 588 million/year, an increase of about VND20 - 30 million compared to the 2022-2023 school year.
