Training through practice
On a weekend morning, when many streets in Ha Tien ward were still relatively empty, dozens of youth union members arrived early to participate in the "Green Sunday" activities. Some trimmed tree branches, others swept up trash, cleared overgrown bushes, and removed illegal advertisements. The enthusiastic and responsible work of the young people contributed to making many streets cleaner and more spacious.
These simple activities have become a practical environment for youth union members to cultivate a sense of responsibility, community awareness, and dedication. Nguyen Phuoc Tri, Secretary of the Youth Union Branch in Ward I - Phao Dai, said: “Participating in volunteer activities gives me more opportunities to improve myself, enhance my sense of responsibility, and foster a spirit of dedication to the community. Through each activity, I feel I have matured in my thinking and actions. I feel happy and proud to contribute to the local community by doing meaningful things for the people.”
Alongside the movement, the Ward Youth Union proactively coordinated with the Ward Political Center and the Party Building Committee of the Ward Party Committee to compile a list and recommend outstanding Youth Union members to participate in Party awareness training courses. Since the beginning of the year, the Ward Political Center has organized two Party awareness training courses, with nearly 200 participants. Participants were equipped with basic knowledge of the history of the Communist Party of Vietnam ; the Political Platform and Party Charter; Ho Chi Minh Thought; and the direction of striving and training to become Party members. Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Dao, Director of the Ha Tien Ward Political Center, said: “Organizing Party awareness training courses for Youth Union members is very important in Party building work at the grassroots level. These courses help Youth Union members improve their political awareness, consolidate their ideological stance, thereby clearly defining the correct motivation for striving to join the Party, and actively training in their studies to soon become Party members.”
Growing up within the Youth Union.
In mid-May 2026, Ms. Nguyen Lam Hong Ngoc, a member of the Military Youth Union branch in To Chau ward, had the honor of joining the Party. For this young female member, this is not only a source of pride but also a significant milestone after many years of training and striving in her work and activities in the local community.
To be admitted to the Party, Ms. Hong Ngoc consistently demonstrated a sense of responsibility, discipline, and enthusiasm in her Youth Union activities. Not only did she actively participate in training, but she also regularly engaged in volunteer work, environmental sanitation, and contributed to building a civilized urban lifestyle in her locality. Throughout her participation in Youth Union activities and local events, she received guidance and support from Youth Union officials, which helped her to develop and mature. “Through each activity, I learned about responsibility, discipline, and a sense of dedication to the community. Being admitted to the Party is a great honor for me, and it reminds me to continue striving, being exemplary, and fulfilling my assigned duties well,” Ms. Hong Ngoc shared.
According to Mr. Ha Thanh Tan, Secretary of the To Chau Ward Youth Union, each Youth Union activity is an environment for members to train, challenge, and grow. Movement activities become a "practical test," an important basis for the Ward Youth Union to select outstanding members to recommend to the Party for consideration and admission. In 2025, the To Chau Ward Youth Union will recommend 30 outstanding members, of which 10 will be admitted to the Party. In the first few months of 2026, the Ward Youth Union will recommend 25 outstanding members, with 7 of them being considered for admission.
Each nominated member not only has achievements in participating in movements but also possesses ideals, a sense of responsibility, and a desire to make long-term contributions to the locality. “In the coming time, we will continue to innovate the content and methods of our activities, focusing on identifying and nurturing outstanding members from grassroots practices. Through this, we will create a source for Party development that ensures quality, contributing to building a team of young Party members with strong political acumen, meeting the requirements of the tasks in the new situation,” Mr. Tan shared.
