GD&TĐ - During the 60-year journey of construction and development, Quang An Secondary School (Tay Ho, Hanoi) has constantly innovated and become a bright spot in the capital's education.

Sowing seeds in hardship

Quang An Secondary School was established in 1965, when the country was entering the fierce stage of the Resistance War against the US to save the country. Initially, the school had only 7 classes with nearly 400 students, studying at Quang Ba Communal House as well as scattered throughout the villages and hamlets. The lack of facilities did not discourage the first teaching staff. They were young, enthusiastic and passionate teachers, laying the foundation for the tradition of "good teaching, good learning" of the school.

Stage of transformation and development

In January 1996, Quang An commune merged into the newly established Tay Ho district; Quang An Secondary School was selected as a "model of educational work" of the district, becoming the hometown of the Education Congress. In August 1999, the school moved to a new location at lane 11 To Ngoc Van and has been stable until today.

In 2003, Quang An Secondary School was the first school in Tay Ho District to be recognized as meeting National Standards. The school was then recognized again in 2014 and 2020.

In the 2023-2024 school year, the school will be renovated, upgraded and newly built with 28 classrooms, 12 subject rooms and functional areas, library, computer room, physical area... equipped with modern, convenient and synchronous educational equipment, creating strong motivation for all staff, teachers and students to affirm the quality of teaching and learning in the new period.

Currently, Quang An Secondary School has 620 students, 45 staff, teachers and employees; of which 100% of teachers meet or exceed standards, 5 teachers have master's degrees.

Over the past 5 years, Quang An Secondary School has always maintained a stable enrollment scale, the rate of students moving straight to the next grade is 96%, the graduation rate is 100%, the rate of students passing into public high schools in 2025 is over 88%, a number among the high groups in Tay Ho district.

Special attention is paid to the work of nurturing excellent students and developing students' comprehensive abilities. In the period 2020-2025, Quang An students won a total of 57 district-level prizes and 7 city-level prizes, 28 national movement prizes; including first and second prizes in many different subjects. Along with the quality of students is a team of dedicated teachers with solid professional capacity. In 5 years, the school has had 11 teachers winning prizes in the District-level excellent teacher competitions, 3 teachers winning prizes at the City level.
