VSTV just announced this information on December 8. According to the announcement of this unit, customers using K+ receivers and dishes can still watch 10 VTV channels and other local TV channels broadcast for free on satellite.

For subscribers who have paid after December 31, 2025, customers can request a refund on the K+ website. VSTV confirms that it will complete confirmation and payment in January 2026.

This announcement was made by VSTV afterFPT Play announced that it has become the sole owner of the copyright for the English Premier League for the 2026-2031 period in Vietnam. The copyright is valid from the middle of the 2025-2026 season to the end of the 2030-2031 season.

Notice of stopping broadcasting from January 1, 2026 of K+ television.

"Over the past 16 years, K+ has become a beautiful memory in the hearts of Vietnamese people. We would like to send our most sincere thanks to you," VSTV said in the announcement.

Established in 2009 as a joint venture between VTVcab and Canal+ (France), VSTV is one of the leading enterprises in providing pay TV services via satellite, owning the copyright of the English Premier League in Vietnam.

However, the business of K+ television operator is in trouble. VSTV once said that it always has to operate in a state of capital shortage (initial capital contribution is less than half of the total demand). Therefore, VSTV operates mainly on borrowed capital, so financial costs are high.

In 2013, VTVcab's capital was transferred to VTV. The company has a charter capital of 20.1 million USD, of which VTV holds 51%, Canal+ owns the rest. Vietnam Television also planned to divest capital from K+ but failed.

Before stopping broadcasting, K+ system included sports channels such as K+Sport1, K+Sport2, entertainment channels such as K+Cine, K+Life and children's channel K+Kids. In addition to the Premier League, VSTV also bought copyrights for many of the world's top sports tournaments such as UFC, F1, Australian Open...

According to Canal+'s 2025 semi-annual financial report, the group recorded a loss at VSTV of 93 million euros, equivalent to about 2,800 billion VND. Thus, VSTV's accumulated loss up to June 30, 2025 is about 182.35 million euros, equivalent to about 5,500 billion VND.
