On the afternoon of July 20, the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention - Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Nghe An province issued Notice No. 114 on the operation of the Chau Thon hydropower reservoir discharge project.
Accordingly, at 5:16 p.m., the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention - Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Nghe An province received Notice No. 85 dated July 20, 2025 of Son Vu Energy Development Joint Stock Company on the operation of the Chau Thon hydropower reservoir discharge project.
To ensure the safe operation and regulation of water at Chau Thon Hydropower Reservoir in accordance with the procedures approved by the Provincial People's Committee and in accordance with the hydrological situation at the project, Son Vu Energy Development Joint Stock Company plans to operate and regulate Chau Thon Hydropower Reservoir as follows:
Estimated time of regulation operation: Starting from 21:00, July 20, 2025.
Expected discharge: Discharge from 20 m3 /s to 120m3 /s (Discharge through the valve gate and generator sets) and may vary depending on the amount of water coming to the lake.
Discharge end time: Until the end of the flood season.
The Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention - Search and Rescue and Civil Defense informs: Muong Quang Commune People's Committee; Heads of provincial Departments, Boards and Branches to inform authorities at all levels, agencies, units, investors who are constructing along the river, on the river, owners of water transport vehicles and all people in the area downstream of Chau Thon Hydropower Plant; to carry out necessary tasks to ensure the safety of life and property of the state and people.
