On November 8 and 9, two concerts within the framework of G-Dragon's Übermensch world tour became a phenomenon on global social networks.

Images of the grand stage and the enthusiastic atmosphere of Vietnamese fans flooded TikTok, X (Twitter) and Facebook, creating a strong wave of influence in the Kpop community (Korean youth music).

Vietnam is also the last international destination of G-Dragon's tour before he concludes it in December. Before Vietnam, the Korean star's Übermensch tour made a big splash in Japan, the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, China, France, the US and Australia.

According to statistics from Korean media, the "Kpop king's" two shows in Hung Yen gathered more than 100,000 domestic and international audiences - a number considered extremely impressive for an Asian music event.

The Laotiantimes newspaper commented: “During each performance, tens of thousands of fans, including many foreign tourists, gathered to take photos in costumes inspired by G-Dragon's signature style. Although the venue was dozens of hectares large, every path, lawn and grandstand was packed with people.”

The newspaper also assessed the two shows as not only a musical event but also the first step in positioning Vietnam as a global center of cultural and entertainment events.

With international vision and modern organizational capacity, Vietnam is gradually asserting its new position - not only accepting the quintessence of world culture but also proactively creating values to attract international friends.

Koreanophiles wrote: “G-Dragon made history in Vietnam by attracting a record number of audiences for his Übermensch tour . The scale of the organization, along with the construction of a special stage, shows the great progress of the Vietnamese entertainment industry.”

Before G-Dragon, Korean girl group Blackpink made Hanoi audiences explode with two shows during the Born Pink tour last July, attracting nearly 70,000 spectators.

According to Nikkei Asia, the event not only promotes the influence of Korean culture in Vietnam, but also contributes to expanding bilateral cooperation in the fields of entertainment, economics, fashion and sports.

Mr. Choi Bundo, Chairman of the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) in the Southern and Central regions of Vietnam, commented: “Vietnamese people love Korean culture, especially Kpop and TV dramas, which creates the foundation for a deep cooperative relationship between the two countries.”

Korean culture began to spread strongly in Vietnam in the early 2000s, with a series of classic films such as: Autumn in my heart, Winter Sonata, Summer Scent, Emotion...

Since then, the soundtrack and Hallyu wave (Korean cultural wave) have continued to be extended by famous music groups such as BIGBANG, Super Junior, TVXQ, BTS, Blackpink, aespa...

In the past two years, Vietnam has become a favorite destination for many Korean artists, not only for music tours but also for cultural and tourism exchange activities. This demonstrates the growing appeal of the Vietnamese entertainment market in the region.
