From September 20, the railway will open sale of train tickets for the Lunar New Year 2026 for individuals.

Tickets will be sold on channels including: website: www.dsvn.vn, vetau.com.vn, vetauonline.vn, giare.vetau.vn; at stations, ticket sales points and official agents; via applications, e-wallets: Momo, VNPay , ZaloPay, ViettelPay, banking applications (Smart Banking), train ticket sales apps on mobile devices... or via Saigon station switchboard 19001520, Hanoi station 19000109. Each customer can buy no more than 10 tickets for the outbound trip and 10 tickets for the return trip.

Passengers who have purchased sleeper or seat tickets can purchase an additional seat for children (from 6 to under 10 years old); each adult ticket can only be purchased with one additional child seat ticket, which will be arranged to share the same seat with the adult. Officers, soldiers of the armed forces, police on emergency missions, military service, enlistment, and reporters on assignment can also purchase an additional seat.

During the 2026 Lunar New Year transportation period, passengers buying long-distance tickets (10 days or more) with a distance of over 900km will receive a discount of 5% -15%; passengers buying tickets for trains departing from Saigon station on February 15 and traveling 1,000km or more will receive a discount of 3%; passengers buying group tickets of 11 people or more will receive a discount of 2% to 12%; passengers buying round-trip tickets will receive a 5% discount on the return ticket price; students will receive a discount of 10% to 20%.

Passengers wishing to change or return tickets must pay a 30% deduction on the price printed on the train pass for tickets traveling during peak periods and must do so 24 hours or more before the train departure time printed on the ticket for individual tickets, and 48 hours for group tickets.

The railway industry recommends that passengers should go directly to the train station system and ticket agents nationwide to buy tickets, bring identification documents and documents proving eligibility to buy discounted train tickets, and not buy train tickets through "ticket brokers". Passengers can check their electronic tickets by accessing the website: dsvn.vn, go to "CHECK TICKET" section, fill in all information, compare information on the system and on the boarding pass.

According to Vietnam Railways Corporation , the peak transportation period for the Lunar New Year 2026 will start from February 3, 2026 to March 8, 2026 (ie December 16, At Ty year to January 20, Binh Ngo year). During this period, the railway industry will organize 55 trains/day, providing about 330,000 train tickets for passengers.

In particular, with the Thong Nhat passenger train, in addition to 7 pairs of regular passenger trains (SE1/SE2, SE3/SE4, SE5/SE6, SE7/SE8, SE9/SE10, SE11/SE12, SE23/SE24), there will be 2 additional pairs of trains: TN3/4 and TN5/6.

For regional passenger trains, in addition to 12 regular train pairs, the Saigon - Vinh route will run 2 additional pairs (SE13/SE14, SE15/SE16); the Saigon - Quang Ngai route will run 1 additional pair (SE25/SE26); the Nha Trang - Saigon route will run additional train SNT12 before Tet and train SNT11 after Tet.

During the Tet holiday from February 16 to February 19 (ie from December 29, At Ty year to the third day of Tet Binh Ngo year), the railway industry also organizes additional train pairs from Saigon to Da Nang, Tam Ky, Dieu Tri, Nha Trang, Hanoi to Vinh... and vice versa to serve passengers traveling for spring.
