The Kim Dong Literary Award was established in 2023. During its first writing competition (2023-2025), the award attracted significant attention from authors, with many high-quality entries. The organizing committee selected 11 works that won the first Kim Dong Literary Award for inclusion in the book collection. These include "What to Do When the Wind Rises" (Giai Du), "Stories from the Mong Village" (Nguyen Thi Nhu Hien), "The Man with the Pink Truck" (Giap Thi Thuy Duong), "Far Out There in the Field" (Cao Nguyet Nguyen), "The Upside-Down World " (Nguyen Quynh Mai), "The Pine Forest" (Pham Thu Ha), "The Witch Who Buys Scrap" (Phat Duong), and others.
The works cover a diverse range of themes including family relationships, coming-of-age, fairy tales, and modern society. The books are well-produced, featuring color illustrations, hardcovers, and elegant dust jackets.
