Photo exhibition week "Vietnamese lawyers with the homeland's sea and islands"

On the afternoon of July 2, in Nha Trang City ( Khanh Hoa ), the Vietnam Lawyers Association coordinated with Khanh Hoa province and functional units to organize the 5th Photo Exhibition Week "Vietnamese Lawyers with the Sea and Islands of the Homeland" at 2/4 Square.

Strong message about sovereignty over Hoang Sa and Truong Sa

Accordingly, the exhibition will take place from July 2 to July 8, with groups of photo documents and artifacts about: Historical documents, legal basis affirming Vietnam's sovereignty over the two archipelagos of Truong Sa and Hoang Sa; The attention of Party and State leaders to cadres, soldiers and people on the outpost islands of the Fatherland; The proud beauty of Vietnam's sea and islands; Daily life of cadres, soldiers and people, fishermen on the islands and DK1 Platform.

In addition, the week will display activities of the Vietnam Lawyers Association participating in the legal struggle to protect Vietnam's sovereignty in the East Sea and activities of the Association's field delegations; images of activities of leaders, officials and people of Khanh Hoa province visiting Truong Sa archipelago and the oil rig; and a number of exhibits on the sea and islands.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Quyen - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Lawyers Association said that this exhibition week aims to disseminate to a large number of lawyers, officials, civil servants, employees, workers, students and people of all walks of life the beautiful images of the homeland's seas and islands; images of activities to preserve and protect the sovereignty of the seas and islands by officers and soldiers on the islands; activities to fight to protect the sovereignty of the seas and islands on the legal front; historical evidence affirming the sovereignty of the two archipelagos of Hoang Sa and Truong Sa of Vietnam...

Through the 5th photo exhibition week with the theme “Vietnamese Lawyers with the Homeland Sea and Islands”, the Vietnam Lawyers Association hopes that lawyers in particular and exhibition viewers in general will have the opportunity to understand more deeply the attention of the Party and State leaders to the homeland’s sea and islands; and the historical documents affirming Vietnam’s sovereignty over the sea and islands of Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos.

This is an annual event organized by the Vietnam Lawyers Association, to affirm the country's sovereignty over seas and islands, contributing to the struggle to protect Vietnam's sovereignty over seas and islands - an inseparable sacred territory of the Vietnamese Fatherland.

The Vietnam Lawyers Association has presented a model of the sovereignty marker on Truong Sa Lon Island to Khanh Hoa province.

According to Chairman Nguyen Van Quyen, through the program, the Vietnam Lawyers Association wants to call on all walks of life nationwide to continue to accompany and encourage naval officers and soldiers, Border Guards, Fisheries Surveillance, Coast Guard, fishermen and people living in land border areas and on islands; call on lawyers and people nationwide to strongly condemn acts of violating Vietnam's sovereignty in the East Sea as well as Vietnam's borders; mobilize the combined strength of the great national unity bloc to protect the Party, government and people, protect the independence, sovereignty and sacred territorial integrity of the Fatherland.

The Vietnam Lawyers Association is a political - social - professional organization of lawyers nationwide. After 69 years of establishment and development, up to now, the total number of members of the Association is more than 80,000 members who have been working in law at state agencies, agencies of the legislative, executive and judicial branches, political and social organizations and operating in all fields of politics, economics, society, national defense and security.

Firmly maintaining sovereignty and developing coastal urban areas of Khanh Hoa

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Dinh Van Thieu - Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, said that Khanh Hoa is a land with a long history and culture and a particularly important strategic position in terms of economy, society, environment, national defense, security and foreign affairs. As the gateway to the East Sea in the South Central and Central Highlands regions, Khanh Hoa has sea, plains and mountains.

With the longest coastline in the country (over 385 km), 3 bays of Nha Trang, Cam Ranh, Van Phong, continental shelf and vast territorial waters with nearly 200 large and small islands, Khanh Hoa has the premise to develop diverse marine economic sectors, shipbuilding, maritime, exploitation, seafood processing, especially tourism with many famous landscapes, relics, festivals, historical sites and favorable, mild climate.

In recent times, the National Assembly and the Government have paid great attention to Khanh Hoa with many resolutions, guidelines, mechanisms and specific policies issued.

Khanh Hoa is oriented to develop into an international sea tourism and service center; a major sea economic center of the country; striving to become one of the coastal cities attracting tourists and having the leading livable environment in Asia by 2050.

In particular, Khanh Hoa has Truong Sa island district - a flesh and blood part of the Fatherland offshore - about 248 nautical miles from Cam Ranh Bay with more than 100 islands, reefs, coral reefs, spread over a sea area of about 180,000 km2, not only has strengths in maritime services, fisheries and fisheries logistics, but also holds an important position in our country's national security and defense, is an extremely important "bridge" to develop international trade, expand exchanges with countries in the region and the world.

Mr. Thieu said that the implementation of the Photo Exhibition Week of Vietnamese Lawyers with the homeland's sea and islands has many practical meanings, contributing to raising awareness among cadres, party members and people of all walks of life about the important role and position of Vietnam's sea and islands, arousing the tradition of patriotism, sense of national pride and self-respect, strengthening education on revolutionary traditions, further enhancing the sense of responsibility for the homeland's sea and islands of every Vietnamese person in general and of the people of Khanh Hoa province in particular.

"Thereby, contributing to the successful implementation of Resolution No. 36 dated October 22, 2018 of the 12th Party Central Committee on "Vietnam's sustainable marine economic development strategy to 2030, vision to 2045" and Resolution No. 09 dated January 28, 2022 of the Politburo on building and developing Khanh Hoa province to 2030, vision to 2045; towards the goal of promoting the construction and development of Truong Sa island district to become an economic, cultural and social center at sea of the whole country and a solid citadel to protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland", the Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee emphasized.
