On the evening of November 8, at Ao Ba Om Cultural and Tourist Area (located in Ward 8, Tra Vinh City), the People's Committee of Tra Vinh province organized the Ooc Om Boc festival night of Tra Vinh province in 2022.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tra Vinh, the Ooc Om Boc festival of the Khmer people in Tra Vinh province has been included in the list of national intangible heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and is held annually on the 14th and 15th of the 10th lunar month.

The Ooc Om Boc Festival is also known as the moon worshiping ceremony or the flat rice feeding ceremony. In 2022, the Ooc Om Boc festival in Tra Vinh province will be held in conjunction with a series of activities of the Culture, Tourism and Southern Cuisine Festival Week, taking place from November 2 to 8. Speaking at the festival, Mr. Le Van Han, Chairman of Tra Vinh Provincial People's Committee, happily said that the activities of the Ooc Om Boc festival contribute to preserving and promoting the fine traditional values of the Khmer people. At the same time, the Chairman of Tra Vinh Provincial People's Committee believes that the Khmer people and monks in the province will celebrate the Ooc Om Boc festival joyfully, healthily, unitedly, economically and safely. Continue to promote the tradition of patriotism and national solidarity, actively participate in patriotic emulation movements in the locality, join hands to build new rural areas, create motivation to effectively implement solutions to restore and develop the economy and achieve the socio-economic development targets in 2022.
