Attending the festival, on the side of international guests were Mr. Shovgi Mehdizada - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Vietnam, Mr. Tumys Kanat - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Vietnam, Mr. Korhan Kemik - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey to Vietnam, representatives of the Embassies of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkey in Vietnam, representatives of the World Barbecue Association, Vietnam Pakistan Trading Company Limited... On the side of Quang Ninh province, there were representatives of leaders of departments, branches, sectors in the province and agencies and units that are partners of Ha Long University.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Duc Tiep - Rector of Ha Long University welcomed the delegates to attend the Azerbaijan Cuisine Festival at Ha Long University. The Rector said: “Azerbaijan is a country endowed by nature and history with a rich cultural treasure, in which cuisine is a wonderful bridge conveying the quintessence, soul and lifestyle of the Azerbaijani people. Enjoying Azerbaijani cuisine at Ha Long University is a valuable opportunity for lecturers, students and the local community to expand their knowledge of world cultures, foster a spirit of respect for diversity and promote international exchange. Ha Long University identifies international integration as one of its important strategic directions. The Azerbaijani Cuisine Festival at Ha Long University will open up many prospects for cooperation between the University and embassies of other countries, especially in the fields of training, foreign languages, tourism, culture and Halal tourism development in Quang Ninh”.
Within the framework of the festival, a Barbecue competition was held with 5 teams of students from Ha Long University. The judges were culinary experts from the World Barbecue Association, the Quang Ninh Province Chefs Association and chefs from leading hotels in Quang Ninh Province. The teams demonstrated their skills in preparing dishes in Azerbaijani style.
Speaking at the festival, Mr. Shovgi Mehdizade - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Vietnam, thanked Ha Long University in particular and Quang Ninh province in general for their attention in organizing this meaningful festival. Through activities with Ha Long University, the relationship between diplomatic missions and embassies of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkey and Quang Ninh province is increasingly strong. The Ambassador also hopes that after the culinary festival, the units will organize more programs of increasingly large scale at Ha Long University and Quang Ninh province.
The program “Azerbaijani Food Festival at Ha Long University” is not only an opportunity to enhance the understanding of culture and cuisine between the two countries but also opens up more opportunities for academic, tourism and economic cooperation, especially in the field of Halal. The event promises to be the foundation for similar exchange activities in the future, contributing to enhancing the position of Ha Long University on the international cooperation map.
