As a policy family with limited economic conditions, at the end of 2024, Mr. Vo Van Dao's household in Lang Khang (Tung Loc commune) was proposed by the local government to support the economic model from the national target program for sustainable poverty reduction.

The chicken flock is the livelihood model of Mr. Vo Van Dao's family, which has been re-raised for the third time.

The program provided 70 chickens and supported chicken feed for the first few months. After 3-4 months of selling chickens, clean eggs were also collected and sold in batches, giving Mr. Dao's family more money to buy chickens to restore the flock.

Mr. Dao shared: “Thanks to the application of techniques, the chicken flock has developed well. Up to now, we have re-raised the flock for the third time and plan to sell it during Tet. Taking short-term to raise long-term has helped my family have more income, and difficulties have been gradually resolved.”

The cattle breeding livelihood model in Tung Loc has been helping people in difficult circumstances have the motivation to improve their lives.

With the motto of "giving fishing rods" to help people rise up, in recent times, Tung Loc commune has been implementing many practical livelihood models, helping people proactively develop the economy and escape poverty sustainably.

In parallel with the development of small-scale free-range chicken farming, Tung Loc actively promotes the movement of raising cows in cages. Because, according to the experience of local people, this form of farming brings many advantages: cows raised in cages are less susceptible to diseases, grow quickly and do not require much care. On the other hand, in the condition of increasingly narrowing pasture areas, the model of raising cows in cages is considered suitable and effective.

Commune and village officials regularly check the development of livelihood models.

Mr. Le Sy Tam - a poor household in Cuu Quoc village said: "Receiving cows for livelihood since November 2024, my family has applied the model of raising cows in barns. Up to now, the cows have developed well and have given birth to calves. Along with the joy of receiving the livelihood model, this year my wife and I also received support from the State and businesses with a total budget of 160 million VND to build a house. This is the motivation and hope for us to strive to escape poverty in the coming time."

Along with supporting the livelihoods of poor households and families in difficult circumstances, in recent times, Tung Loc commune has closely coordinated with the Social Policy Bank to create conditions for people to access preferential loans. Thanks to that, many households have had more resources to invest in production, develop livestock, and expand economic models.

Thanks to preferential capital, Mr. Nguyen Duc Canh's family in Nam Tan Dan village expanded the scale of raising cows in captivity, contributing to increasing income.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Canh in Nam Tan Dan village said: “Thanks to the preferential loan of 200 million VND from the Social Policy Bank, my family has expanded the scale of raising cows in captivity. Currently, each batch, I raise from 25 to 30 cows for a period of 9 to 12 months. Depending on the market price, after deducting expenses, each cow brings in an income of 8 to 10 million VND. Thanks to that, we have now built a spacious house, our economic life is increasingly stable, and we have the conditions to take care of our children's education.”

To effectively promote the capital for poverty reduction in the area, in addition to the efforts of borrowers, there is also the active support and accompaniment of village cadres and loan groups. Ms. Nguyen Thi Hue - Head of the Women's Union of Nam Tan Dan village shared: "In order for the capital to reach the right recipients, before disbursement, we organize meetings to carefully review the conditions of each household. After receiving the loan, the group always maintains periodic inspection and supervision to ensure that households use the capital for the right purpose and achieve high efficiency."

The comprehensive economic model of Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy's family - Dong Vinh village brings in hundreds of millions of dong per year.

It is known that in recent years, with the attention of the locality, people of Tung Loc commune have had access to many sources of entrusted loans from banks and credit funds, helping them have more conditions to invest in economic development. The Social Policy Bank alone is currently managing 32 loan groups with more than 1,000 members, with a total outstanding loan balance of more than 78 billion VND. This is a source of capital secured through mass organizations such as women, farmers and the commune youth union - reliable intermediary channels, always accompanying people on the journey to escape poverty.

Not only stopping at lending, mass organizations and village cadres also regularly monitor, guide and support borrowers to use capital for the right purpose and effectively. It is the close coordination between the "three parties" - people, mass organizations and banks that has created a synergistic strength, helping policy credit capital to maximize its effectiveness. Thanks to that, many households not only pay principal and interest on time but also gradually stabilize their economy and strive to become rich legitimately. Up to now, the poverty rate in Tung Loc is 2.2% - down 0.5%, near-poor households 3.95% - down 1.95% compared to 2021.

The incense making model in Tung Loc commune creates jobs for many local workers.

Mr. Nguyen Chi Tung - Head of Economic Department, Tung Loc Commune People's Committee informed: "The good news is that people have changed their mindset. They are no longer afraid of borrowing capital, not afraid of risks but proactively learn and invest. Many households also find outlets for their products through social networks and e-commerce platforms. It is this dynamism that is helping the rural economy in the area develop more strongly.

In the coming time, we will also continue to mobilize the participation of the entire political system in strengthening propaganda work, inspecting and supervising the good implementation of poverty reduction funds; continue to review and grasp difficult circumstances to promptly advise on support solutions. Along with that, the locality also increases the call for socialized resources from businesses and children far from home to join in implementing the goal of sustainable poverty reduction."
