In 2026, the retirement age for male workers will be 61 years and 6 months, and for female workers will be 57 years; in 2027, the retirement age for male workers will be 61 years and 9 months, and for female workers will be 57 years and 4 months.

Based on Article 169 of the 2019 Labor Code, employees who meet the requirements regarding the duration of social insurance contributions as stipulated by the law on social insurance are entitled to a pension upon reaching retirement age.

Accordingly, the retirement age for workers under normal working conditions will be adjusted gradually until it reaches 62 years old for male workers in 2028 and 60 years old for female workers in 2035.

According to Clause 2, Article 4 of Government Decree No. 135/2020/ND-CP, the retirement age for workers under normal working conditions each year, starting from 2026, will be determined as follows:

- Workers who have worked for 15 years or more in strenuous, hazardous, or particularly strenuous, hazardous, or dangerous occupations or jobs listed in the catalog issued by the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (now the Ministry of Interior ).

- Workers who have worked for 15 years or more in areas with particularly difficult socio -economic conditions, including time worked in areas with a regional allowance coefficient of 0.7 or higher before January 1, 2021.

- Workers whose working capacity is reduced by 61% or more.

- Workers whose total time working in strenuous, hazardous, or exceptionally strenuous, hazardous, or dangerous occupations or jobs listed in the catalog issued by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (now the Ministry of Interior) and time working in areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions, including time working in areas with a regional allowance coefficient of 0.7 or higher before January 1, 2021, is 15 years or more.
