“The Firewall of Trang An” premieres: Attraction from exposing the trillion-dollar virtual currency case

On November 14, in Hanoi , Hanoi Radio and Television Station coordinated with Hanoi City Police to launch the long-running TV series "Trang An Firewall".

The film revolves around the tense battle of wits between the police force and a large-scale "virtual currency" crime ring, based on real cases busted by Hanoi City Police in late 2024.

Speaking at the film launch, Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Director of the Hanoi City Police, emphasized that the film "Trang An Firewall - Special Case of Digital Trap" produced by Hanoi Radio and Television in coordination with the Hanoi City Police is not only a television work of artistic value, but also a vivid and meaningful propaganda activity, realistically recreating the image of the Capital Police soldiers in the uncompromising fight against high-tech crimes.

According to Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung, the film was born in the context of increasingly complex high-tech crimes. He cited: "In the first 10 months of 2025, the whole city discovered 1,787 cases of fraud and property appropriation, accounting for 35% of the total number of criminal cases, causing damage of more than 925 billion VND". Especially the major project that served as the foundation for the content of the film "Trang An Firewall", such as the "Mr. Pips" project that arrested and prosecuted 48 subjects, confiscating and freezing the subjects' assets worth a total of more than 5,300 billion VND. Or the MPX case that arrested and prosecuted 11 subjects, confiscating and freezing assets worth more than 500 billion VND.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung also affirmed that the film's release was even more meaningful when Hanoi was recently chosen to host a special international event, the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime - "Hanoi Convention 2025". This is the first time a global convention on cyber security has been named after the capital city of Hanoi, demonstrating Vietnam's position and responsibility in ensuring digital security. The film "Trang An Firewall" is therefore also a communication activity that contributes to spreading the spirit of the Hanoi Convention in the community.

Speaking at the event, journalist Nguyen Kim Khiem, General Director - Editor-in-Chief of Hanoi Radio and Television, said that he was impressed with the special cases that Hanoi Police had successfully fought in the past time, and at the same time, carrying out the tasks assigned by the Hanoi Party Committee and People's Committee to produce audio-visual propaganda programs on the fight against high-tech crimes in various forms, Hanoi Radio and Television coordinated to produce the film "Trang An Firewall". The film reflects the fight against high-tech crimes, depicts the silent achievements of the Capital Police officers, and at the same time contributes to raising social awareness, together creating a safe and healthy cyberspace for the people.

The 45-episode “Tuong Firewall Trang An” takes the audience into the world of high-tech crime, exposing the sophisticated traps that bad guys are setting across cyberspace. The film follows the journey of an elite investigative force in the relentless fight to protect people in the digital space.

With professional advice from Hanoi Police, the film exposes the complex transformation of this type of crime, from small-scale appropriation to organized networks, operating sophisticatedly like a large enterprise with a closed ecosystem; dissecting psychological manipulation tricks through seminars and disguised "training" courses, where promises of "success" and "financial freedom" are used as bait, luring tens of thousands of gullible people.

At the same time, the investigation line closely follows the journey of tracing and decoding money laundering tricks and the clues hidden behind the complex encryption layer. In particular, the film points out the psychological "blind spots" that are easily exploited by bad guys, thereby warning people about fraudulent tricks in the digital space, helping to improve knowledge to protect themselves and their families when participating in the online environment.
