On the morning of July 13, the 2025 Shanghai Volleyball Tournament kicked off with the participation of 8 teams. The Vietnamese women's volleyball team is in Group A with China U21, France youth team and Bauru U21 team (Brazil). Group B includes Shanghai U21, Slovenia youth, Netherlands youth and Canada youth.

In the opening match, coach Nguyen Ngoc Hoa 's team met U21 France. The Vietnamese women's volleyball team took the field with a lineup consisting of setter Vo Thi Kim Thoa, libero Ninh Anh, Nguyen Thi Phuong, Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh, Pham Thi Uyen, Tran Thi Bich Thuy, and Pham Thi Hien.

In the 3 sets, coach Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hoa made the only adjustment: replacing Nguyen Thi Phuong with Bui Thi Anh Thao. Against a not-so-strong opponent, the Vietnamese girls won 3-0 against U21 France (25/22, 25/15, 25/11).

According to the match schedule, at 6:00 p.m. on July 14, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will meet host U21 China.
