Bustling construction site

According to the investigation of Giao Thong Newspaper reporters, the investment project to upgrade the Cao Lanh - Lo Te route in Dong Thap province and Can Tho city has a length of about 28.8km, with a total investment of about 950 billion VND.

At the contract package under the responsibility of Nghe An Construction Corporation, many equipment and machines are being operated continuously and workers are working very urgently.

Workers take advantage of favorable weather conditions to carry out assigned work.

Mr. Dang Huy Hoang, technical officer of Nghe An Construction Corporation, said that the package under the company's management is divided into two categories. In which, the main route is 11km long, the contractor will carry out the work of paving the new asphalt road surface.

Regarding the service road, the company is responsible for construction from Km26+00 to Km40+500. On the right side of the main road, the contractor is constructing 3 sections, on the left side, the contractor is constructing 2 sections.

"This construction is according to the approved design of the relevant units. Once completed, people's movement under the service road will be convenient and smooth," said Mr. Hoang.

Mr. Hoang added that currently, at the construction site, the company has arranged for workers to perform tasks such as digging organic soil for the service road, reinforcing the service road slope, and making drainage works...

"Up to now, the construction progress of the package under the responsibility of Nghe An Construction Corporation has reached 2%, basically meeting the requirements of the investor. At the same time, the company also organized workers to work in two shifts and two shifts," Mr. Hoang informed.

The bridges in the service road are being urgently implemented by the contractor.

Regarding the package under the responsibility of Thang Long Bridge 7 Joint Stock Company, Mr. Nguyen Quang Nguyen, Deputy Project Commander, said that the entire package to upgrade the Cao Lanh - Lo Te route has 29 bridges.

The contractor was assigned to construct 23 bridges, of which the longest bridge is the Dat Set bridge with 9 spans. Up to now, the construction progress of the package by Thang Long Bridge 7 Joint Stock Company has reached 2%.

"Currently, at the construction site, the company has arranged 20 workers and 13 machines and equipment to construct the bridges included in the package. The weather has been unfavorable these past few days, but the contractor is trying to complete the construction according to the plan," said Mr. Nguyen.

According to Mr. Nguyen, at the construction site, the company organized workers to perform tasks related to clearing the entire route and driving prestressed concrete piles for the bridge section.

"To be able to construct the bridge, the contractor bought 300m3 of commercial sand and the necessary amount of crushed stone to level the ground and build the service road," Mr. Nguyen informed.

Try to ensure traffic safety during construction.

Contractors are urgently constructing the Cao Lanh - Lo Te route and traffic safety (TS) work is also focused on to ensure safety during the work process.

At the bidding package by Truong Thanh Investment - Construction - Trading Joint Stock Company, the reporter found that the safety barrier was implemented very seriously by the contractor. This contributed to making traffic participants feel secure through the road section under construction.

Mr. Truong Van Thang, technical officer, Truong Thanh Investment - Construction - Trade Joint Stock Company said that the contractor always pays attention to ensuring construction safety.

"The contractor always carefully fences off traffic on this road to ensure smooth and safe traffic," Mr. Thang added.

Mr. Vu Van Ven (45 years old, living in Can Tho city) said: "These past few days I have seen that the road is under construction, the contractor has barricades and there are traffic controllers. However, when passing through here, it is safer to drive slowly."

"The road is always a bit narrow during construction, so when coming here, everyone should pay attention to ensure safety. I see that in recent days, the contractor at the construction site has always done a good job of traffic safety," said Mr. Huynh Van Bu (54 years old, living in An Giang province).

Contractor patched the holes in the road surface.

According to Mr. Hoang, the Cao Lanh - Lo Te route was previously managed by Road Management Area IV (Vietnam Road Administration). Currently, this route is being upgraded so it has been assigned to contractors for construction. Therefore, all safety work is taken care of by Nghe An Construction Corporation.

"Due to heavy rain these past few days, combined with the high traffic volume on the Cao Lanh - Lo Te route, potholes have appeared in some places. The contractor is also contacting relevant units to cut grass and patch up damaged road surfaces to ensure safe traffic for people," Mr. Hoang informed.

The leader of My Thuan Project Management Board (investor) informed that the contractor is checking and patching potholes, however, the rainy weather has affected the patching progress...

The Cao Lanh - Lo Te route starts at An Binh intersection, An Binh commune, Cao Lanh district, Dong Thap province (about Km 26+00 according to National Highway N2B) and ends at Lo Te - Rach Soi route, in Can Tho city (about Km 54+844 according to National Highway N2B).
The investment scale includes asphalt concrete paving the main road surface and building a system of service roads along the route, arranging a fence system and completing the traffic safety system in compliance with the National Technical Regulation on Road Signs QCVN 41:2019/BGTVT.
The project has a total length of about 28.8km, with a total investment of about 950 billion VND, and will be implemented from the end of April 2024 and is expected to be completed and put into operation on December 31, 2025.
