According to Mr. Ngo Van Thuong, Deputy Chief of the Office for Coordinating New Rural Development in Tuyen Quang province, in recent years, Tuyen Quang province has continued to comprehensively and effectively implement the policy of restructuring the agricultural sector towards developing commodity agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, in conjunction with building new rural areas.
The focus is on organizing production along value chains, increasing added value, promoting digital transformation, adapting to climate change, and developing sustainable agriculture.

In 2025, the province allocated nearly 19.9 billion VND to implement the OCOP Program, focusing on supporting businesses in upgrading products, expanding production scale, promoting trade, and connecting to markets.
To date, the province has 454 valid OCOP products that have been granted certificates of 3 stars or higher. Of these, 428 products have achieved 3 stars, 24 products have achieved 4 stars, and 2 products have achieved 5 stars at the national level. The province's OCOP products are produced by 296 participating entities, including 194 cooperatives, 10 cooperative groups, 23 enterprises, and 69 individual production and business households.
The increasing number of OCOP products not only reflects the program's spread but also shows that the mindset of producing goods and developing the economy along the value chain is gradually taking shape and progressing among rural people in Tuyen Quang.
Le Khau Trang, a product of Tan Hop Agricultural Cooperative in Hong Thai commune, has officially been upgraded from OCOP 3-star to 4-star in 2025, marking another proud milestone on the journey of producing clean agricultural products in the highlands.
This is not only a recognition of quality, but also the result of years of perseverance and dedication from farmers in preserving and elevating local specialties.
Mr. Dang Xuan Cuong, from Khau Trang village, shared that his family currently owns 0.3 hectares of ancient pear trees, nearly 20 years old, which are considered to produce fruit of superior quality compared to the general standard. The upgrading of Khau Trang pears to OCOP 4-star has further strengthened the belief and motivation of pear growers like his family to continue cultivating pears, working together to build and spread the brand of this specialty pear from their hometown.
Currently, 97 out of 124 communes and wards in Tuyen Quang province have OCOP products, demonstrating that the program has truly gone into depth and created widespread impact throughout rural areas. Notably, Tuyen Quang province has one product, Shan Tuyet Hong Thai tea – “1 bud, 1 leaf” – from Son Tra Cooperative participating in the national 5-star OCOP product evaluation and ranking, opening up opportunities to elevate the brand of the province's specialty tea in domestic and international markets.

Alongside the development of OCOP products, agricultural production models in the province have been gradually strengthened and reformed according to market mechanisms. To date, the province has formed over 118 production, processing, and consumption linkages for agricultural products, contributing to solving the problem of output, stabilizing prices, and increasing income for farmers.
With 454 products achieving OCOP star status, Tuyen Quang is gradually affirming the correct direction in rural economic development, creating a solid foundation for the province's agriculture and rural areas to develop comprehensively, modernly, and sustainably in the new era.
