In recent years, sectors and localities have focused on planting new, protecting and regenerating forests. In the first 6 months of 2025 alone, the province planted more than 13,000 hectares of forest, of which more than 11,000 hectares were concentrated forests and more than 1,351 hectares were scattered trees.
Implementing the project of planting one billion trees launched by the Prime Minister , the province has completed one year ahead of schedule, with more than 31 million trees of all kinds.
In the area, there are many good models and practices in forest protection and development, such as the Tuyen Quang Border Guard Command with the "Border Green Belt" program.
From November 2024 to present, border guards have coordinated with local authorities to plant 53,000 trees along the border in communes of the Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark.
Currently, the stations continue to review to expand the tree planting area, gradually build a sustainable forest ecosystem in the border area, create green corridors, reduce erosion and landslides to protect the border line and landmarks.

By focusing on forest protection and development, the province has a total forest and forestry land area of over 1 million hectares, including special-use forest land of over 106,000 hectares; protective forest land of over 352,000 hectares; production forest land of nearly 550,000 hectares; forest area outside the three types of forest is over 3,062 hectares, accounting for over 73% of the province's natural land area.
To date, Tuyen Quang has nearly 90,000 hectares of planted forests certified for sustainable forest management. Since the beginning of 2025, the output of exploited planted forests has reached more than 788,000m3 of wood .
