Lung Cam Upper Cultural and Tourism Village is located in Sa Phin commune, Tuyen Quang province, on National Highway 4C (a vital road connecting famous tourist destinations such as the Vuong Family Mansion, Lung Cu Flagpole, and Dong Van Old Town...). Its convenient location makes Lung Cam an ideal and indispensable stop on any journey to explore the Dong Van Karst Plateau.
Viewed from above, the Lung Cam Upper Cultural and Tourism Village emerges as a stunning natural landscape, surrounded by majestic jagged limestone mountains and standing out amidst fields of vibrant yellow mustard flowers, buckwheat flowers, pear blossoms, and plum blossoms that bloom profusely along the roadsides during the Lunar New Year and Spring season.

The village has a natural land area of 184 hectares, of which 44 hectares are agricultural land. The entire village currently has 73 households with over 400 inhabitants, of which the Hmong people account for 95%. With its pristine architectural beauty, the houses, deeply rooted in the identity of the Hmong ethnic group, have been preserved and cherished through many generations: Houses with earthen walls in yellow-brown hues and moss-covered yin-yang tiled roofs, some decades or even centuries old, nestled beside skillfully arranged stone fences, creating a scene that is both rustic and proud of the highlanders. Each house, each stone porch, embodies and reflects the enduring resilience and indomitable spirit of the people here.
When peach blossoms, pear blossoms, plum blossoms, mustard flowers, and buckwheat flowers bloom, the village becomes more prominent and attractive than ever. In the chilly winter air, the sounds of children playing, the melodious sound of the Hmong flute, combined with the fragrant aroma of roasted sticky corn, buckwheat cakes, sausages, and the strong scent of fermented corn wine, captivate every visitor. Watching the smoke rising from the roofs of the traditional houses gives us a feeling of peace and tranquility.

A highlight of the Lung Cam Cultural and Tourism Village is the house of Mr. Mua Sua Pao at the beginning of the village, next to the flower valley, a location used for filming the movie "Pao's Story". The house is designed in a style characteristic of the rocky plateau region, using traditional materials sourced locally. The roof is covered with yin-yang tiles, the walls are made of mud, and the foundation and fence are paved with large, skillfully carved stone slabs.
The house, completed in 1935, retains its original antique charm even after 90 years. Since the success of the film, the house has become an indispensable "check-in" spot for tourists visiting the Stone Plateau.
Lung Cam is not only beautiful but also a place that preserves the unique customs and traditions of the Mong people. The village regularly organizes annual traditional festivals such as the Gau Tao Festival, the Buckwheat Flower Festival, and teaches the art of playing the khene (a type of bamboo flute), making and playing khene, weaving linen, and brewing corn wine with leaf yeast to the younger generation. The daily wearing of traditional clothing has created a unique character and enduring vitality for the local culture.

Leveraging these potential advantages, all levels and sectors, along with local authorities, have paid attention to, invested in, built, promoted, guided, supported, and assisted local people in areas such as home decoration; preserving and developing traditional cultural values; planting trees and flowers to create natural landscapes; maintaining a clean, green, and beautiful environment; appropriate behavior in communication; and opening cooking and food decoration classes… all to promote tourism development and improve people's lives.
As a result, many households in the village have changed their lifestyles, mindsets, and ways of thinking and working, cultivating more fruit trees such as pears, plums, and peaches, or decorating their houses beautifully with unique ethnic architecture, attracting tourists to visit and take photos.

Mr. Ly Ngoc Long, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Sa Phin commune, said: In 2017, Lung Cam Tren village was recognized by the People's Committee of Ha Giang province as a typical community-based cultural tourism village and was re-recognized for the second time in 2020; in October 2024, the People's Committee of Ha Giang province recognized Lung Cam Tren cultural tourism village as a community tourism destination. This is a well-deserved recognition for the efforts of the people in preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of their homeland.
Following the merger, the commune's Party committee and government proactively inspected, reviewed, and assessed the current state and effectiveness of the Cultural Village's activities and proposed plans for future development, especially focusing on developing experiential activities such as participating in labor and production, living with local people; participating in agricultural production, food processing, and learning handicrafts… to attract and retain visitors to the village.

According to Mr. Mua Say Pao, Director of the Nha Pao General Agricultural, Forestry and Tourism Service Cooperative, in recent years, thanks to the policies and mechanisms of the Party and State, and the close attention and guidance of the local Party committee and government, favorable conditions have been created to help the people of Lung Cam Tren village repair their houses; arrange furniture and rooms neatly and tidily; pave yards and build sanitary facilities; move livestock pens away from houses; create a clean and beautiful natural landscape to serve the needs of families and tourists staying overnight; learn to make more delicious and attractive dishes; learn how to welcome tourists… As a result, Lung Cam Tren Cultural Tourism Village attracts over 150,000 domestic and foreign tourists annually to visit and experience.
The village of Lung Cam Tren currently has nearly 50 households participating in tourism and service activities; there is one licensed tour guide, and the villagers are maintaining and developing traditional crafts such as garment making, linen weaving, buckwheat cake making, and corn wine brewing. There are 32 stalls selling and displaying local products; 2 households providing accommodation services, 4 households providing food and beverage services, and 3 transportation companies. The average income per household is between 10 and 20 million VND per month.

In addition, the commune's Party Committee and government, along with the Village Management Board, have done a good job in ensuring security, social order, and environmental protection. The village also publicly displays the phone numbers of the organizations and individuals in charge, as well as suggestion boxes… and especially, fire prevention and control are also given attention and implemented by the households.
The above results show that: Thanks to good conservation efforts, preserving the majestic and poetic natural landscape and unique traditional cultural and architectural values, the people of Lung Cam Tren village, Sa Phin commune, have united, learned, and built an attractive tourist destination brand that not only attracts tourists but also contributes to increasing income and sustainably alleviating poverty.
