On the evening of December 5, Tuyen Quang province organized the first Pa Then Fire Dancing Festival in 2025 in Tan Trinh commune. This is the first time the festival has been organized at the provincial level.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the festival, the leader of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tuyen Quang province said that the Pa Then ethnic group is a very small ethnic minority, currently living in a number of localities in the province, most concentrated in Tan Trinh commune.

Fire dancing ritual is a unique cultural feature of the Pa Then people, maintained and organized annually by the local people and recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage.

Within the framework of the festival, competitions took place such as: Wrapping croissant cakes; weaving chicken cages for the bride; weaving brocade; pounding rice cakes. Each competition recreated the long-standing culture of the Pa Then people and demonstrated the ingenuity and sophistication in the work and daily life of the people.
