'Vietnam team holds the opportunity to the end at Asian Cup 2027'

VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan emphasized that the Vietnamese team needs to maintain the highest concentration and determination in the remaining matches of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.

On November 12, VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan met and encouraged the Vietnamese team , currently training in Viet Tri ( Phu Tho ), to prepare for the away match against Laos in the second leg of the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup.

The head of VFF acknowledged the professionalism of the players in maintaining their physical strength and stable performance to quickly integrate into the team. In particular, Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan also congratulated striker Nguyen Xuan Son on his complete recovery after a long period of injury treatment and his readiness to return to contribute to the national team.

Currently, Vietnam is ranked 2nd in Group F with 9 points after 4 matches, while Laos is ranked 3rd with 3 points. Topping Group F is Malaysia, with 12 points. Mr. Tuan emphasized that coach Kim Sang Sik and his team need to maintain the highest concentration and determination in the remaining matches of the qualifying round, holding on to the opportunity until the end in the race for a ticket to the 2027 Asian Cup Finals.

The VFF President believes that the Vietnamese team will continue to assert its position in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers, first of all in the away match against Laos on November 19. "The matches are not only significant in terms of achievements but also an important opportunity to improve the position on the FIFA rankings, thereby enhancing the team's brand and creating an advantage in the group stage draws at official international tournaments," said Mr. Tuan.

On the afternoon of November 12, the Vietnamese team continued their training session at Viet Tri Stadium, aiming to complete tactical preparations before moving to Laos on November 15.

Defender Pham Xuan Manh said that no one in the Vietnamese team has serious injuries, and everyone is determined to win all 3 points in the upcoming match against Laos.

Regarding the return of Nguyen Xuan Son, the Hanoi FC player shared his feelings: "Xuan Son brings positive energy. He always has a smile on his lips and brings excitement to his teammates."
