Over the three days of the 34th World Memory Championships ( WMC 2025) held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam became a focal point of intellectual excellence, bringing together many outstanding athletes from 24 countries and territories.
The organizers of the competition have announced the top 5 teams with the highest scores in the Memory Championship. Mongolia came first, Australia second, and China third . Vietnam finished 4th overall, and Algeria took 5th place.
Dang Ngoc Phuong Trinh won the gold medal in the Abstract Image Memory category in the Super Memory competition.

Specifically, the overall results for the Super Memory category were as follows: First place went to Mongolian athlete Naranzul Otgon-Ulaan. She also won first place in the youth age group (13-17 years old) in the Super Memory competition. Second place also went to Mongolian athlete Erdenegerel Ganzorig. Third place went to Indian athlete Vishal Rajkumar. Vishal Rajkumar also won first place in the adult age group (18-59 years old).
Two Vietnamese contestants over 60 years old excellently won second prize, along with three contestants in the over-60 age group.

In the senior age group (over 60), Mr. Gunther Karsten from Germany won 10 gold medals in 10 events of the Super Memory competition, taking first place in his age group. Second place went to Mr. Nghiem Tuan Nghia and third place to Ms. Dam Thao Minh.
Athlete Dang Ngoc Phuong Trinh won 1 gold medal in the Abstract Image Memory event and 1 bronze medal in the Historical Event Memory event. In the children's age group (under 12 years old), Mongolia was the team with the most medals.
In the Speed Reading competition, Vietnam won 1 second prize and 2 third prizes. In the Mind Mapping competition, Vietnam won many medals in each subject and age group. Overall, Vietnam secured all three first, second, and third place awards.
Real-time technology transfer (SuperMe)
This year's tournament is organized and operated on a modern technological platform, ensuring absolute integrity, fairness, transparency, and innovation through Real-time technology (SuperMe).
The SuperMe memory training software and the HITA talent nurturing method were selected by WMC as strategic partners. At the ceremony, countries such as the United States, the Czech Republic, Turkey, France, Malaysia, Poland, and Algeria, along with Mr. Dam Duc Anh – Chairman of the Founding Council of the HITA talent nurturing method, signed international cooperation agreements.

This is a significant step forward, marking the future of global intellectual cooperation. It demonstrates that Vietnam not only hosts the event but also contributes academic value and training methods to the global intellectual community.
The ceremony also awarded international Master of Memory certificates to candidates who met the international standards. This is the official recognition from the World Council of Mind Sports of the athletes' abilities, perseverance, and serious competitive spirit.

The ceremony also marked the unveiling of the official rotating trophy of the World Memory Championship, The Eternal Mind Trophy. This unique trophy, crafted in Vietnam by Louis Diamond Jewelry, features the image of the human brain – symbolizing the boundless intelligence and endless creativity of humankind.
Starting this year, the trophy will rotate among the host countries, becoming a symbol of the right to host, the responsibility to preserve intellectual heritage, and the cross-border connection of the intellectual sports community.
Vietnam will once again host the 35th World Memory Championship.
Traditionally, after each season, the hosting rights are transferred to the next country to spread the spirit of intellectual sports globally. Before officially concluding the 34th World Memory Championship, Professor Marek Kasperski performed the handover ceremony and confirmed Vietnam's hosting rights for the following year.
Vietnam continues to win the right to host the 2026 World Memory Championship.

Professor Marek Kasperski, President of the World Council on Intellectual Sports, highly praised host country Vietnam for ensuring international standards in expertise, refereeing, facilities, and tournament management. The World Council on Intellectual Sports believes the tournament was well-organized, professional, and demonstrated hospitality and a long-term vision for the development of intellectual sports.
Dr. Thang Van Phuc - Former Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Interior , President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Record Holders Association, and Head of the Organizing Committee of the competition, shared: "With professionalism in organization, hospitality, international standard professional quality, and the profound impression left on friends from all over the world, Vietnam has received the absolute trust of the World Council of Intellectual Sports. We also send our deepest thanks to the international referees and the athletes. See you again in Vietnam at the 2026 tournament."
The tournament is organized by the World Records Alliance (WorldKings), the Vietnam Super Memory Organization, and the Tam Tri Luc Education Group, under the supervision of the International Arbitration Council (GOMSA), and is sponsored by Thanh Nien Newspaper and Ho Chi Minh City Television (HTV).
The World Memory Championship (WMC) was founded in 1991 by Tony Buzan and Raymond Keene. The WMC is the world's oldest and most prestigious memory competition. The tournament aims to celebrate the limits of the human brain and promote the global movement for intellectual sports training.
