The US dollar continued to fall to its lowest level in more than a year in the last trading session, after the release of US Consumer Price Index data, supporting the US Federal Reserve (Fed) may only raise interest rates once more this year.

Inflation in the US has been largely contained, with US consumer prices rising just 0.2% in June and recording the smallest annual increase in more than two years as inflation continued to cool. In the 12 months through June, the CPI rose 3.0%, lower than economists ' estimates of 3.1%.
Simon Harvey, head of FX at Monex Europe, said the latest data showing signs of cooling inflation had reinforced the market’s initial view of the Fed’s interest rate decision, with investors believing the US central bank would likely raise interest rates just one more time.
US interest rate futures still show traders expect the Fed to raise interest rates by another 25 basis points, to a range of 5.25% - 5.5%, at the Fed's July 25-26 meeting.
In a contrasting move, the euro rose to its highest since March last year at $1.1134.
Against the yen, the dollar fell to a six-week low of 138.17 yen. Meanwhile, the pound hit a fresh 15-month high of $1.30, last trading up 0.4 percent at $1.2984. The pound's recovery is being fueled by expectations that the Bank of England will raise interest rates further to curb inflation.
