Today's Japanese Yen exchange rate surveyed on the morning of March 24, 2024 at banks, specifically as follows:

At Vietcombank , the Vietcombank Japanese Yen exchange rate is 158.70 VND/JPY and the selling rate is 167.97 VND/JPY, down 0.71 VND on the buying side and down 0.76 VND on the selling side.

At Vietinbank , the Yen exchange rate increased by 0.34 VND in both buying and selling directions, equivalent to 159.4 VND/JPY and 169.1 VND/JPY.

At BIDV Bank, the Japanese Yen exchange rate decreased by 0.51 VND in buying and decreased by 0.56 VND in selling, reaching 159.3 VND/JPY and 167.8 VND/JPY, respectively.

At Agribank, the Japanese Yen exchange rate for buying and selling is 159.61 VND/JPY and 167.69 VND/JPY - down 1.11 VND for buying and down 1.2 VND for selling.

At Eximbank, the buying price decreased by 0.56 VND and the selling price decreased by 0.58 VND, respectively at 161.06 VND/JPY and 165.75 VND/JPY.

Yen exchange rate trend forecast

The Japanese yen held around 151.5 per dollar, hovering near a four-month low as the dollar strengthened on bets that the U.S. Federal Reserve's monetary policy may remain restrictive even as other major central banks begin cutting interest rates.

Domestically, investors digested data showing Japan's core and headline inflation rates rose to a four-month high of 2.8% in February, supporting the Bank of Japan's decision to end negative interest rates.

Earlier this week, the Bank of Japan (BoJ) raised interest rates from -0.1% to 0%, the first time since 2007 and ending eight years of negative interest rates amid rising wages and high inflation.

The central bank also abandoned its yield curve control policy, ended its purchases of ETFs and J-REITs, and reduced its bond purchases. However, BOJ Governor Kazuo Ueda said the central bank would maintain its easing stance for some time, keeping interest rates at 0%.
