Nevertheless, Thai Nguyen T&T showed their danger in counter-attacking situations. In the 35th minute, from a fierce challenge by Thao Nguyen, Tran Thi Huong unleashed a beautiful long-range shot, beating goalkeeper Pham Ngoc Anh and opening the scoring for Thai Nguyen T&T.
In the second half, Hanoi pushed their formation higher in an attempt to find an equalizer.
