U.23 Vietnam is not impatient
SEA Games 33 is approaching and the men's football content, especially Group B of the U.23 Vietnam team, is in turmoil. The competition venue has been continuously moved from Chiangmai, Songkhla until now to Bangkok and the layout of the groups has also changed. Most recently on November 27, the Organizing Committee decided to move Singapore from Group C (currently with 4 teams) to Group A to replace Cambodia's withdrawal, meaning that each Group A - B - C has 3 teams. This has somewhat affected the psychology of the young players when they are under no small pressure with the goal of winning the gold medal in Thailand.
Not to mention the match date against Laos has also changed. Instead of playing on December 4 as scheduled 2 days ago, U.23 Vietnam and Laos will face each other on December 3 according to the latest adjustment from the Organizing Committee.

Football expert Doan Minh Xuong commented: "Looking at the preparation process from 2024 to now, through two official tournaments of U.23 Southeast Asia 2025 and U.23 Asia 2026 qualifiers, along with a series of quality tournaments and friendly matches abroad, it can be seen that U.23 Vietnam has been best prepared.
The current issue is the direct preparation for the SEA Games, which will include the players' mental preparation. This year, especially, the host country Thailand divided the teams into 3 groups, which will create its own pressure. The traditional way of dividing into 2 groups (each group has 5-6 teams) will make the teams compete more, the schedule will be more dense, but mistakes will be allowed because each group will select 2 teams for the semi-finals. In the current way of dividing into 3 groups, everyone will have to concentrate to the maximum, because one mistake will cost the top spot in the group to the opponent, which means the risk of being eliminated early is very high. Therefore, coach Kim Sang-sik and the coaching staff will have to calculate the plan, and especially have a good competitive mentality to avoid mistakes. The players will not be impatient, show their bravery, play to their full potential to solve each match."
U.23 Cambodia withdraws, will the match time of U.23 Vietnam be affected?
Mr. Kim's group division
On the afternoon of November 27, at Ba Ria Stadium, Coach Kim Sang-sik and the U.23 Vietnam team had their 4th training session in Ho Chi Minh City. After the familiar warm-up, Mr. Kim let his students exercise without the ball like playing tag, making the training ground full of laughter. The good news is that all 28 members are healthy, no injuries have occurred. The whole team is very confident, showing trust in the preparation process when the opening match is exactly 1 week away. Also, the Organizing Committee determined that U.23 Vietnam will play 2 matches in Group B against Laos and Malaysia, both at Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok. The U.23 Vietnam defense is stable, so Mr. Kim will focus on choosing someone to replace Van Truong to support the attack.
Mr. Doan Minh Xuong commented: "I am very happy that the U.23 Vietnam strikers are very thick, helping the coaching staff have many options. We will need to improve our scoring efficiency because in many previous matches, the young strikers were still a bit impatient and impatient in the final stages. But it seems that coach Kim Sang-sik has found a solution by rotating the players in the attack. Recently, it is easy to see that Mr. Kim is forming separate groups, so that when needed, he can replace the entire attacking team of 2-3 people at once. Depending on the defense system and the opponent's countermeasures, U.23 Vietnam will choose the appropriate group to compete, creating an element of surprise. The strikers playing in groups with complementarity and harmony will create a good psychological premise to help them be more confident in scoring goals. Personally, I think that the psychological factor will decide the journey to conquer the SEA Games 33 gold medal. Especially in the group stage, mistakes are not allowed to take the top spot in the group to enter the semi-finals, so the Vietnamese strikers must play effective in breaking through the opponent's net. The players are having healthy competition and everyone is ready to join in, so U.23 Vietnam has a lot of hope of winning."
