C MEANINGFUL VICTORY
U.23 Vietnam did not have much time to prepare for the Panda Cup 2025 due to the V-League round 11 schedule. However, the whole team successfully defeated U.23 China thanks to a reasonable playing style, knowing themselves and their opponents, as commented by interim coach Dinh Hong Vinh: "The young players strictly followed the tactics and discipline, played with concentration, controlled the tempo, and were not caught up in the opponent's rhythm of play." U.23 China was an important test, helping U.23 Vietnam find confidence and calm when facing big teams. Previously, during the 7 consecutive wins in the U.23 Southeast Asia 2025 tournament and the U.23 Asia 2026 qualifiers, U.23 Vietnam's opponents did not have as good physique and fitness as U.23 China.

U.23 Vietnam will have two more challenging matches, against U.23 Uzbekistan on November 15 and U.23 Korea on November 18. Football expert Doan Minh Xuong commented: "The way U.23 Vietnam played and the results achieved against U.23 China are positive signs. This will add motivation and confidence to the team as the 33rd SEA Games approaches and the U.23 Asian Cup finals are further along. Of course, we have two much more "heavyweight" challenges ahead, U.23 Uzbekistan and U.23 Korea. These are the most accurate tests, measuring the true abilities of young Vietnamese players. The way coach Dinh Hong Vinh used his players in the opening match shows that many U.23 Vietnam players have made remarkable progress, and we hope to continue to witness other convincing performances from U.23 Vietnam."
STRONG DISTURBING FORCE
Good news for U.23 Vietnam when the test results show that midfielder Xuan Bac's injury is not serious. He only suffered a slight pain after jumping high and landing poorly in the match against U.23 China. The midfielder of PVF-CAND Club can still play in the match against U.23 Uzbekistan. However, it is likely that interim coach Dinh Hong Vinh will choose a safer solution, which is to let Xuan Bac rest, to give Quoc Cuong a chance to start. The player currently playing for Ho Chi Minh City Police Club has played very "brightly" since replacing his teammate in the second half of the victory over U.23 China. He has shown his flexible pressing escape skills and the ability to deploy the ball quickly and reasonably. However, Quoc Cuong will have to compete with Thai Son. Mr. Vinh also plans to rotate U.23 Vietnam, with a squad considered stronger than the squad that just won against U.23 China, to surprise the opponent Uzbekistan.
Dinh Bac and Le Viktor were not registered in the starting lineup, but when facing U.23 Uzbekistan, both will likely start. The names that entered the field from the second half against U.23 China such as left-back Phi Hoang, right-back Minh Phuc (author of the only goal against China), striker Van Thuan, Ngoc My... may also start. 1.91 m tall goalkeeper Nguyen Trung Kien, after witnessing Cao Van Binh shine with many excellent saves, will have strong motivation if he is trusted by coach Dinh Hong Vinh. Bui Vi Hao made an impressive return in the last 30 minutes of the match against China, and may also be named in the starting lineup.
Expert Doan Minh Xuong expressed: "U.23 Vietnam has a great advantage when being invited to participate in the quality Panda Cup 2025, gathering many good opponents. Good results in these friendly matches are very useful. But daring to experiment with many positions to get good results in official tournaments is even more important."
