On the afternoon of December 7, the U22 Vietnam team had a training session to prepare for the final match of Group B of the 33rd SEA Games men's football against U22 Malaysia on December 11.
Speaking before the training session, center back Nguyen Nhat Minh shared: "Yesterday afternoon (December 6), we went to watch U22 Malaysia play their opening match against U22 Laos. They won with a big score of 4-1, played very well and were strong, so we will try to focus more in the training sessions to prepare for the match."
"Coach Kim Sang Sik has not shared with us after watching the match. Perhaps in the next meetings, he will analyze more carefully to help us improve in the next match," he added.
Evaluating U22 Malaysia, Nhat Minh said: "U22 Malaysia lost first but played quite well and had better results than the entire U22 Vietnam team. Similar to other youth tournaments, Malaysia plays with more strength, so we also need to pay more attention."
Talking about the chance of U22 Vietnam to enter the semi-finals, Nhat Minh shared: "Both teams have 3 points, the chance is still 50-50 for the top spot in the group. So I think, whoever performs better in the next match will have a good result.
I think with the team's good preparation, U22 Vietnam will have good results in the upcoming match with U22 Malaysia. The whole team is very confident, because recently U22 Vietnam has often had good results."
Talking about the strength of U22 Vietnam, Nhat Minh said that it is solidarity. "This afternoon, before U22 Laos left the hotel to return home, U22 Vietnam encouraged the player who was seriously injured yesterday. Everyone sympathized, shared and also wanted to send a little love to the Lao player so that he can recover from his injury faster."
