As host, runner-up U22 Thailand fell into an extremely "easy" group with Timor Leste and Cambodia.

This year's tournament continues to apply the U22 squad rule (players born from January 1, 2003 onwards) and there are no spots for over-age players.
As planned, the group stage will take place from December 3 to 12; the semi-finals on December 15; the third-place match and the final on December 18.
Three stadiums were chosen as competition venues: Rajamangala (Bangkok), Tinsulanonda (Songkhla) and 700th Anniversary of Chiangmai (Chiangmai).
Rajamangala Stadium will also be the venue for the semi-finals, third place match and final.
