Because the U22 Malaysia team has not arrived in Thailand and will not compete until December 6, the press conference was attended only by head coach of the U22 Vietnam team Kim Sang-sik and head coach of the U22 Laos team Ha Hyeok-jun.
The press conference took place in an open atmosphere, but still showed the caution of both teams before the important opening match.
Opening the sharing session, Coach Kim Sang-sik emphasized the important meaning of SEA Games for Vietnamese football and affirmed that the whole team had prepared carefully.
He said: “SEA Games is a very important tournament for Vietnam. Tomorrow is the first match and it is also a very important match. We will focus our full attention on the immediate goal of passing the group stage.”
Evaluating the opponent, the Laos U22 team, coach Kim Sang-sik was cautious: “The two teams have met many times. The last time Vietnam won 2-0, but under coach Ha Hyeok-jun, Laos has made remarkable progress. He has had a great influence on the playing style and team organization for Laos. I respect that very much.”
Correctly assessing the opponent is considered necessary for U22 Vietnam to enter the match with the highest concentration, avoiding subjectivity.
Coach Kim Sang-sik also shared that the U22 Vietnam team has been working at a very high intensity recently to prepare thoroughly for the 33rd SEA Games.
“We are very busy, trying to improve the team every day. The whole team definitely wants to achieve the best result tomorrow,” he said.

Answering a question about expectations at the 33rd SEA Games, coach Kim Sang-sik said: “Vietnam will try its best to achieve the best results. In Southeast Asia, teams all have enthusiastic support from fans. I hope we can together help develop football in the region.”
He emphasized that Vietnam always respects neighboring football teams, and at the same time aims for the image of a U22 Vietnam team that plays with dedication and fair play.
When sending a message to Vietnamese fans, Coach Kim Sang-sik expressed: “This is the first time I have attended the SEA Games. I thank the fans, whether they come directly to the stadium or on television, for always supporting the team. We will try to bring joy and the best results.” The message shows his respect for the audience, which he considers a great motivation for the whole team.
For his part, coach Ha Hyeok-jun of the Laos U22 team used a Chinese proverb to talk about preparation: “Whatever people do, Heaven sees.”
He affirmed that the whole team had tried their best, and the result was up to fate. His modesty but determination showed that the U22 Laos team did not come to the SEA Games to “participate”, but set the goal of improving with each match.
Coach Ha Hyeok-jun also praised Vietnamese football and coach Kim Sang-sik: "He is a good coach and has built a strong team. Having the chance to face his team, I believe the Lao team will become more mature." The mutual respect between the two coaches contributed to creating a good atmosphere before the match.

Talking about the chances of competing, Mr. Ha affirmed that a win and a draw are enough to open up the chance of passing the group stage: "The road to the semi-finals is not easy, but we have prepared as best as possible."
On the occasion of Laos National Day (December 2), he hopes the team will put on a spectacular match: “Our population is the smallest in the region, but our love for football is not small.” Both teams share the same goal of taking the field with a spirit of dedication, bringing joy to the fans.

The U22 Vietnam team will meet the U22 Laos team in the opening match of Group B on the afternoon of December 3. Coach Kim Sang-sik and his team aim to win to create a favorable start for their journey to conquer the gold medal in men's football at the 33rd SEA Games.

With a high spirit of concentration, serious preparation and determination to show their mettle, the U22 Vietnam team entered the opening match with the goal of achieving the best result.
