The Vietnam U22 team continued to maintain high training intensity at RBAC Stadium (Bangkok, Thailand) on December 8, to prepare for the key match against Malaysia U22 in the final match of Group B of the 33rd SEA Games men's football.

The training atmosphere was lively, with the whole team clearly showing their concentration and determination in the battle for a ticket to the semi-finals. Coach Kim Sang-sik received good news when the squad was in good shape and their physical condition had recovered. Midfielder Nguyen Xuan Bac, who had to leave the field early in the match against U22 Laos, participated in normal training and gradually regained his form to integrate with the team's general rhythm. During the morning training session, the players also received additional intensive physical training at the hotel gym, under the guidance of assistant coach Yoon Dong-hun.

During the main training session, the coaching staff prioritized tactical content, thereby carefully evaluating the performance of each position to choose the ideal lineup for the important confrontation with U22 Malaysia - the team leading Group B with 3 points, the same score as U22 Vietnam but with a better goal difference (+3 compared to +1). Previously, defender Nguyen Nhat Minh assessed that U22 Malaysia played impressively, with a strong physical foundation and powerful playing style, so it required U22 Vietnam to maintain high vigilance and maintain a stable formation distance.

When talking about the chance to compete for the top spot in Group B, Nhat Minh commented: "Both teams have 3 points, so the chance is equal, 50-50. The team that plays better will have the advantage. We have prepared carefully and are confident towards the most positive results." Nhat Minh affirmed that the team is not under pressure from the disadvantage in goal difference, because U22 Vietnam has had many impressive victories against Malaysian youth teams in the past.

"Our biggest strength is our team spirit. If I have the chance, I will try to contribute through flank attacks or assists, like what I did before, to help the team achieve its goals" - Nhat Minh emphasized.

With 2 days left before the decisive match, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team must win against U22 Malaysia to overcome the disadvantage in goal difference and take the top spot in the table.
