At the CFA Team China – Panda Cup 2025 International Football Tournament, U22 Vietnam faced many difficulties when facing the home team on the opening day of the tournament. However, coach Dinh Hong Vinh’s team confidently played an open game with the opponent throughout the match.
The game was a bit slow to get into and the defense made some mistakes, but U22 Vietnam quickly tightened the formation and gradually mastered the proposed tactics. In fact, the playing style of the U23 China team was not very diverse, often using high balls or set pieces.

After nearly 80 minutes of play, coach Dinh Hong Vinh and his team unexpectedly opened the scoring. Starting from a tricky dribble and cross into the penalty area by Le Van Thuan, the Chinese defender could not successfully clear the ball and defender Pham Minh Phuc quickly rushed in to shoot, scoring the only goal of the match.
Compared to the previous two tournaments, U22 Vietnam made remarkable progress when they won the opening match of CFA Team China – Panda Cup 2025. This result helped Mr. Vinh's team temporarily rank second in the tournament, with the same 3 points as U23 Korea but inferior in terms of additional index.
Earlier in the day, South Korea U23 beat Uzbekistan U23 2-0 thanks to goals from Jung Seung-Bae and Kim Myung-jun in the second half of the match.
