A large crowd of fans welcomed the Vietnam U23 team back home after their emotional performance at the U23 Asian Championship in Saudi Arabia.

After a nearly month-long journey at the 2026 AFC U23 Asian Championship, the Vietnam U23 team returned home on January 24th. Thousands of fans waited for hours to witness coach Kim Sang Sik and his team in person.

At nearly 9 PM, coach Kim Sang Sik and his players appeared in the lobby of Terminal 2 at Noi Bai International Airport ( Hanoi ). This was Group 1 of the Vietnam U23 team, including VFF Vice President Tran Anh Tu, Head of National Teams Department of VFF Doan Anh Tuan, head coach Kim Sang Sik, several assistants, and the majority of the players.

Meanwhile, Group 2, consisting of 8 coaching staff members and 6 players including Trung Kien, Dinh Hai, Van Binh, Phi Hoang, Quoc Cuong, and Van Ha, will return to Vietnam on the morning of January 25th.

Striker Quoc Viet is all smiles. He scored the opening goal for Vietnam U23 in their victory over South Korea U23, securing the bronze medal at the 2026 AFC U23 Championship.

In this tournament, Nhat Minh's role was crucial because Hieu Minh was injured and Ly Duc received a red card.

Vietnamese-born midfielder Viktor Lê also had a successful tournament.

Even though Ly Duc is suspended for 3 matches, the most important thing is the performance of the Vietnam U23 team.

Striker Thanh Nhàn is one of the key tactical players for coach Kim Sang Sik.

The appearance of striker Dinh Bac became the center of attention. Hundreds of fans surrounded him to ask for photos and autographs.
