According to Mr. Minoru Kikkawa, Bourbon Group is a large Japanese enterprise, specializing in confectionery production and the main raw material is imported chocolate from South America. However, this raw material area is currently affected by many factors, so the raw material price in this area is quite high and unstable. Therefore, to ensure a stable source of raw materials for the enterprise's production, the Group has conducted many surveys and researches on cocoa raw materials in Vietnam in general and Gia Lai province in particular. Through the survey period, Bourbon Group found that the land and climate in Gia Lai are very suitable for growing cocoa trees and the quality is also very outstanding. Bourbon Group has planned to cooperate with Trong Duc Cocoa Company Limited to develop and expand the raw material area in Gia Lai to meet the processing needs of the unit.

Mr. Minoru Kikkawa affirmed that Bourbon not only consumes cocoa beans but also wishes to contribute to the development of local cocoa trees, through Bourbon's confectionery products to promote Vietnamese cocoa materials in the world market. Currently, the two units have also signed a cooperation agreement for the next 7 years to purchase cocoa beans and support the development of raw material areas in Gia Lai.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan expressed his pleasure at welcoming the leaders of Bourbon Group and Trong Duc Cocoa Company Limited. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that Gia Lai is committed to accompanying and creating the best conditions for Bourbon Group and Trong Duc Cocoa Company Limited to expand the raw material area to develop and export high-quality cocoa.
He also requested that businesses must commit to long-term product consumption for farmers; promote the application of science and technology, guide farmers on how to plant and care to ensure productivity and quality associated with growing area codes to build Gia Lai's cocoa raw material area with a world-class brand.

Provincial leaders witnessed the signing ceremony of the cooperation contract on cocoa growing and exporting areas between Trong Duc Cocoa Company Limited and Bourbon Group.
The Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee also requested the two enterprises to research and develop in-depth processing of cocoa products and the province will create conditions for the enterprises to build factories to process cocoa products for export to countries around the world. At the same time, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee noted that in the cocoa raw material development area, there is a large proportion of ethnic minorities, so when expanding the growing area, enterprises need to pay attention to social security policies; especially, they must coordinate well with the locality to ensure security and order in the area.

At the working session, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan and leaders of the provincial departments and branches, Po To commune witnessed the signing ceremony of the Cooperation Contract on cocoa growing area for export between Trong Duc Cacao Company Limited and Bourbon Group; the two enterprises also signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in developing cocoa material areas and consuming cocoa products in Po To commune.
