Ukraine lost its last slim chance to escape Myrnohrad

Russian troops advanced north of Pokrovsk, finally cutting off the last line of fire of the Ukrainian defenders, allowing them to withdraw from the Mirnohrad municipality.

While Kiev's leadership continues to claim that Ukrainian defense forces are still "holding positions" in the city of Pokrovsk, the Russian Armed Forces (RFAF) continue to expand their control, destroying the Ukrainian defense forces that are surrounded in Myrnohrad.

According to the latest information, the Ukrainian army (AFU) has lost even the slightest chance of escaping the encirclement in Myrnohrad, as the RFAF has made significant advances north of Pokrovsk towards the town of Rodinske, taking control of another part of the gray zone; thereby completely cutting off all escape routes from Myrnohrad.

The RVvoenkory channel reported that Russian troops now controlled the entire territory west of Verbytsky Street, where Ukrainian soldiers could have escaped if they were lucky. Moreover, the Ukrainian defense forces' ability to counterattack in the Myrnohrad urban area has now completely lost its chance.

Meanwhile, General Syrsky, Commander of the Ukrainian Army, continued to claim that units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), still held parts of Pokrovsk and were trying to retake Myrnohrad. However, Russian troops in the city could not locate these units; apparently the Ukrainian troops were “very well camouflaged”.

Meanwhile, the AFU counterattacks from the direction of the village of Gryshyne (Grishino) and the town of Rodinske north of the city had almost ceased, as the AFU General Staff was running out of reserves. This was especially true since some of the AFU units previously deployed there had been urgently transferred to the Zaporizhzhia region to defend Huliaipole.

Thus, the Russian “thousand cuts” tactic has been fully effective. Although the RFAF’s advance in Huliaipole has slowed down, AFU reinforcements cannot stop it. According to the latest information, the strike units of the RFAF Vostok Group are now present in the city of Huliaipole.

According to the DIVGEN channel, the supply line for the besieged Ukrainian troops in Mirnograd is now almost entirely dependent on large UAVs like Baba Yaga and robotic platforms like NRTK, which try to exploit the terrain and terrain to penetrate the city, but often fail.

The Ukrainian defenders themselves, trapped in the encirclement of Myrnohrad, continue to hope for a breakthrough to withdraw from the city or to launch a rescue operation, but the chances are slim. The reason is that the RFAF has tight control of the approaches to the northwest of Mirnograd.

General Syrsky said that if the troops were not withdrawn from Myrnohrad immediately, the AFU would lose two brigades. However, President Zelensky refused to withdraw the troops and ordered to hold the city to the last man, the Telegram Resident channel reported.

The Rybar channel reported that the Ukrainian defenders, surrounded by Myrnohrad, are facing serious supply problems. They lack ammunition and food, while the pressure from the RFAF is increasing. In interviews with Western media, via the Starlink Internet, the encircled Ukrainian soldiers stated that they needed to withdraw from Myrnohrad immediately, but received no response from their superiors.

Notably, the heavy defeat suffered by the Ukrainian army in the battle for the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad region caused a heated debate in the Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian Parliament ). The deputies demanded the immediate resignation of General Syrsky. “Pokrovsk has really fallen, and Myrnohrad is completely surrounded.
