In an interview with the press today, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Sports Department, Head of the Vietnam Sports Delegation at the 33rd SEA Games, Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh acknowledged the efforts of the host country Thailand, which has overcome many difficulties to organize the 33rd Games.
“Although the host country is experiencing natural disasters and is in state mourning for Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, Thailand is still making great efforts to host the 33rd SEA Games. This is a very commendable effort. Therefore, the responsibility of the participating delegations, including the Vietnamese Sports Delegation, is to contribute to the Organizing Committee to successfully organize the Games,” said Head of Delegation Nguyen Hong Minh.
Regarding the composition of the Vietnam Sports Delegation, in addition to the doctors serving the football team, this time the delegation has 19 doctors from the Vietnam Sports Hospital and national training centers, responsible for health care, injury recovery and physical fitness for athletes throughout the competition.

“This is a huge and difficult workload. We hope that in the coming time, with the attention of the State on policies and regimes, the sports medical staff will be improved, contributing to the development of a professional team, keeping up with the regional level, aiming for the Asian Games and Olympic arenas," said Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh.
In addition, Vietnamese sports are strongly applying science and technology, including artificial intelligence (AI), in competition planning, tactical analysis and implementation, especially in football teams and some other sports. The delegation is also coordinating with domestic companies to expand the application of AI technology, aiming at all teams participating in training and competition in the future.
Head of the delegation Nguyen Hong Minh emphasized that competing with strong opponents in the region, such as Thailand, Indonesia or Singapore, whose sports have reached world-class standards in some sports, will be a driving force for Vietnamese athletes to improve their skills, gradually narrow the gap and aim for higher achievements at the Asiad and Olympics.
