Application of science and technology in the production and processing of temperate fruit trees in Hong Thai

On December 9, in Hong Thai commune, the Center for Training and Research on Plant and Animal Breeding in collaboration with the People's Committee of Hong Thai commune organized a Workshop on Application of Science and Technology in Production and Processing of Temperate Fruit Trees in an Ecological Direction, Combined with Agricultural Tourism in Tuyen Quang, summarizing the Project on Researching Solutions for Developing Production and Processing of Temperate Fruit Trees in an Ecological Agriculture Direction to Serve the Development of Agricultural Tourism in Tuyen Quang Province.

In Khau Trang village, Hong Thai commune, the Center for Training and Research on Plant and Animal Breeding has implemented a project to support people with a number of contents: Providing flower seedlings to check in under pear trees; building and linking eco-tourism and community tourism; upgrading the Hong Thai pear Ocop product from 3 stars to 4 stars; supporting people to plant 3 hectares of new local pear varieties with 24 households.

People of Khau Trang village participated in a discussion at the workshop about the advantages and difficulties in implementing the project.

During the project implementation, it has been shown that the application of science and technology in the production and processing of temperate fruit trees in an ecological direction is completely suitable for local conditions. The newly planted pear trees grow evenly, contributing to creating landscapes and forming tourist attractions such as pear hills, flower roads, and agricultural experience areas. Through the project, it has contributed to stabilizing life and sustainably reducing poverty for people in Hong Thai commune.
