On November 12 in Ho Chi Minh City, Google just concluded Google Apps Summit 2025 - the first regional unified conference held in Vietnam. For the first time, Google combined 3 major regional events: Playtime, Think Apps, and Apps Summit into one seamless experience.
The event brought together over 700 app developers and senior leaders from Southeast Asia, India, China, Korea, Australia and many other countries in the Asia- Pacific (APAC) region. The conference focused on the future of the gaming and app industry, introduced 10 growth tips for developers and shared AI application solutions for global expansion.
According to AppMagic, Vietnam is currently leading the region with a 65% increase in revenue from games and applications – the fastest in APAC. Domestic developers recorded more than 6 billion downloads, of which 95% came from international users. The Google Play ecosystem contributed more than VND2,000 billion in digital export revenue, creating nearly 490,000 direct and indirect jobs.

Mr. Marc Woo, General Director of Google Vietnam, spoke at Google Apps Summit 2025
Mr. Marc Woo, General Director of Google Vietnam, emphasized: “Vietnam is not only an emerging market but has become a global application powerhouse.” Google’s choice of Vietnam to host the regional conference affirms its commitment to long-term investment and support for the application development ecosystem here.
At the event, Google revealed 10 growth secrets, notably applying AI to the development process - when 90% of global game developers have used AI such as Gemini API or Google AI Studio to optimize source code and create content. For example, the online learning platform Entri in India has saved up to 40% of time through AI applications for these tasks.
Success stories from Vietnam were also shared, such as Vulcan Labs with its AI assistant “Daily Smith”, or Wolffun with Thetan Arena – a game that attracted 30 million players. Google Gemini is considered a “secret weapon” that helps shorten development time, maintaining a competitive advantage in the international market.
Google also announced a 12-week Play Apps Accelerator program to nurture potential startups, along with initiatives such as Game Design Class, App Design with AI Workshop and “Made in Vietnam” – a collection honoring the creativity of Vietnamese programmers.
