Domestic and world USD prices reverse to decrease

Today, January 9, 2024, VCB USD slightly decreased by 15 VND in both buying and selling directions, the world USD reversed and decreased in price, currently trading at 102 points.

The central VND/USD exchange rate announced by the State Bank is adjusted to 23,933 VND/USD, up 1 VND compared to the trading session on January 8.

Currently, the exchange rate allowed for trading by commercial banks ranges from 23,400 - 25,079 VND/USD. The US Dollar exchange rate has also been brought to the buying and selling range by the State Bank of Vietnam from 23,400 to 25,079 VND/USD.

Today, January 9, 2024, USD VCB adjusted down slightly by 15 VND in both buying and selling directions.

The bank USD exchange rate and foreign exchange rate this morning recorded a series of downward adjustments at banks. Specifically, Vietcombank has a buying price of 24,145 and a selling price of 24,515, down 15 VND compared to the trading session on January 8. The current USD buying and selling prices are in the range of 23,400 - 25,300 VND/USD.

In the world, the Dollar Index (DXY), measuring the USD against 6 major currencies (EUR, JPY, GBP, CAD, SEK, CHF), stopped at 102.27 points - down 0.14% compared to trading on January 8.

Gold prices fell sharply across the board

Today, domestic gold price dropped sharply by more than 1 million VND/tael in both buying and selling directions, world gold price turned to decrease.

At the time of survey at 5:00 a.m. on January 9, 2024, the gold price on the trading floors of some companies was as follows:

DOJI listed the price of 9999 gold at 71.00 million VND/tael for buying and 74.00 million VND/tael for selling.

At Mi Hong Gold and Gemstone Company, at the time of survey, the listed price of SJC gold was at 71.30 - 73.30 million VND/tael (buy - sell).

SJC gold price at Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited is also traded by the enterprise at 71.20 - 73.90 million VND/tael (buy - sell). Meanwhile, at Bao Tin Manh Hai, it is being traded at 71.20 - 74.20 million VND/tael (buy - sell).

Japanese Yen and Yen VCB exchange rates rebound

Today's Japanese Yen exchange rate surveyed on the morning of January 9, 2024 at banks, specifically as follows:

At Vietcombank, the buying rate is 163.66 VND/JPY and the selling rate is 173.25 VND/JPY, up 0.47 VND for buying and 0.51 VND for selling. At Vietinbank, the buying and selling rates increased by 0.88 VND, equivalent to 164.40 VND/JPY and 174.10 VND/JPY. At BIDV, the buying rate increased by 1.08 VND and the selling rate increased by 1.11 VND, reaching 164.81 VND/JPY and 173.46 VND/JPY, respectively. At Agribank, the buying and selling rates were 165.57 VND/JPY and 170.77 VND/JPY - up 0.47 VND for buying and up 0.49 VND for selling.

At Eximbank, the buying rate increased by 0.42 VND and the selling rate increased by 0.5 VND, respectively, to 165.78 VND/JPY and 170.61 VND/JPY. At Techcombank, the Japanese Yen exchange rate increased by 0.6 VND and the selling rate increased by 0.65 VND, respectively, to 161.84 VND/JPY and 172.87 VND/JPY.

At Sacombank, the buying price increased by 0.31 VND and the selling price increased by 0.36 VND, corresponding to the prices of 165.80 VND/JPY and 172.40 VND/JPY.

According to the survey, today Sacombank is the bank with the highest buying rate of Japanese Yen and Eximbank is the bank with the lowest selling rate among the banks.

Domestic coffee prices increased slightly

Updated at 4:24 a.m. on January 9, 2024, domestic coffee prices tend to increase slightly, the increase is about 100 VND/kg and is quite high. Currently, the average coffee price in the Central Highlands provinces is about 68,400 VND/kg, the highest purchase price in Dak Nong and Dak Lak provinces is 68,600 VND/kg.

Specifically, the coffee purchase price in Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces is at 68,500 VND/kg; In Dak Nong province, coffee is purchased at a high price of 68,600 VND/kg.

The price of green coffee beans (coffee beans, fresh coffee beans) in Lam Dong province in districts such as Bao Loc, Di Linh, Lam Ha, is purchased at 67,800 VND/kg.

Coffee prices in Dak Lak province today are the highest; in Cu M'gar district, coffee is purchased at 68,500 VND/kg, and in Ea H'leo district, Buon Ho town, it is purchased at the same price of 68,600 VND/kg.
