In the process of sustainable industrial development, Lao Cai province always prioritizes investment in building synchronous industrial park (IP) infrastructure, improving the investment environment and creating favorable conditions for businesses. These efforts are helping the province improve its competitiveness, attracting more and more projects in line with its long-term development orientation.

Recently, in the province's industrial parks, many important infrastructure projects have been completed on schedule, creating more favorable conditions for production and business activities of enterprises.

According to the Provincial Industrial Park Management Board, the occupancy rate at three key industrial parks continues to remain high, with Minh Quan Industrial Park reaching 94.66%, Southern Industrial Park reaching 91.55%, and Au Lau Industrial Park reaching 84.15%. This is an important basis for the province to continue attracting new projects in the context of increasingly clear competition in the investment environment.

At the same time, the investment capital flow into these 3 industrial parks also showed many positive changes. As of October 2025, the province's industrial parks had attracted 11 new projects with a total investment capital of more than 924 billion VND, while many enterprises were expanding their production scale.

The province currently has 95 projects in operation or being implemented, forming a diverse industrial ecosystem from agricultural and forestry processing, mechanics to high-tech industries and supporting industries.

At Minh Quan Industrial Park, Sunwell Vietnam Industrial Co., Ltd. is one of the enterprises with stable production activities. The enterprise specializes in manufacturing beds, cabinets, tables, chairs... always maintaining jobs for about 250 workers with an average income of 10 - 12 million VND/person/month and fully fulfilling budget obligations. The results of Sunwell Vietnam Industrial Co., Ltd. not only show the internal strength of the enterprise, but also reflect the increasingly favorable investment environment, creating conditions for enterprises to develop sustainably in Lao Cai.

Not only upgrading and completing existing industrial parks, the province continues to expand industrial space according to the plan until 2030. Industrial parks in Bat Xat, Ban Qua, Vo Lao, Phu Xuan and Coc My - Trinh Tuong are implementing investment procedures and infrastructure construction.

Of which, Bat Xat Industrial Park has achieved 35% of site clearance progress, technical infrastructure items are being accelerated and the first land lot is expected to be handed over to investors in December 2025. This is expected to be a new industrial space, conveniently connected to the border gate area and key logistics routes.

In operating industrial parks such as Tang Loong, Dong Pho Moi and Bac Duyen Hai, production continues to maintain stability. Tang Loong Industrial Park, the largest industrial center in the province, is gradually transforming into an ecological industrial park model, in line with the trend of green industrial development. Dong Pho Moi and Bac Duyen Hai Industrial Parks are also reviewing their land funds to synchronously connect with urban and traffic infrastructure, paving the way for new development directions in the future.

The border gate system and logistics infrastructure play an important role in supporting industrial enterprises. On average, every day at Kim Thanh International Road Border Gate No. II, there are about 500 import and export vehicles completing customs clearance procedures. The large volume of goods, continuously circulating, helps enterprises in industrial zones save time, reduce transportation costs and access regional markets more quickly.

Mr. Vuong Trinh Quoc - Head of Lao Cai Economic Zone Management Board, said: "The Economic Zone Management Board always closely follows the province's direction, focusing on completing infrastructure, improving the investment environment, enhancing customs clearance capacity at border gates and removing difficulties for businesses. We are coordinating with ministries and branches to submit to the Prime Minister for approval the Smart Border Gate Project, while promoting the development of logistics infrastructure and key projects to improve the efficiency of investment attraction."

Administrative procedure reform continues to be one of the important highlights in the province's efforts to improve the investment environment. According to the Provincial Industrial Park Management Board, 98% of investment-related dossiers in industrial parks were resolved on time or earlier this year. This helps businesses shorten project preparation time and reduce compliance costs. Site clearance work also achieved positive results.

At Minh Quan Industrial Park, compensation for nearly 20 hectares has been completed for 63 households; Au Lau Industrial Park has more than 20.9 hectares of clean land ready for implementing infrastructure projects and attracting new investments. These results contribute to creating a more stable, transparent and friendly investment environment for businesses.

Along with that, Lao Cai province maintains a focused incentive policy, prioritizing the attraction of high-tech sectors, supporting industries and modern production models. In the industrial development planning for the coming period, industrial zones such as Y Can, Dong An, Thinh Hung and Luc Yen are oriented to be built according to the ecological - high-tech industrial zone model, in line with the green and sustainable development trend of the province. This is considered an important space to attract quality capital flows, improve land use efficiency and increase industrial production value.

From the efforts in infrastructure investment, administrative procedure reform, industrial space expansion to the implementation of focused incentive policies, it can be seen that Lao Cai is gradually forming a modern and sustainable industrial, commercial and border gate ecosystem. With a methodical approach and the determination of the entire political system and the companionship of businesses, the province is affirming its position as a stable, safe and potential investment destination in the Northern Midlands and Mountains region.
