Athletes compete enthusiastically at badminton and billiards tournaments

On the morning of November 1, the Organizing Committee of the 1st Thu Dau Mot Ward Sports Festival (HCMC) in 2025 opened the Billiards and Badminton tournaments with the participation of hundreds of athletes.

At Phuc Quan Badminton Club, within the framework of the Thu Dau Mot Ward Sports Congress, the Organizing Committee of the 1st Thu Dau Mot Ward Sports Congress in 2025 held the opening ceremony of the Ward Badminton Tournament with hundreds of athletes participating.

Attending the opening ceremony were leaders of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, leaders of Thu Dau Mot ward, neighborhoods, units, businesses and hundreds of athletes in the ward.

The organizing committee awarded souvenir flags to the participating units.

On the same day, at the Royal Billiards Club, the Organizing Committee of the Thu Dau Mot Ward Sports Festival continued to open the Billiards Tournament with the participation of 60 players from neighborhoods and units in the ward. The players competed in 2 events including 1-cushion Carom and 3-cushion Carom.

Athletes compete in the men's singles knockout event

Up to now, Thu Dau Mot ward has opened 4/10 tournaments attracting more than 400 athletes in the area to participate. The Table Tennis Tournament is expected to open on the morning of November 2.
Mr. Vuong Duc Hieu, Director of the Ward Culture - Information - Sports Center, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee, said: The Billiards and Badminton Tournaments are part of the first Thu Dau Mot Ward Sports Festival in 2025.

Tournaments contribute to promoting the development of local sports movements.

The tournament not only creates momentum to promote the development of local Billiards and Badminton movements but also provides an opportunity for players to compete, exchange and learn from each other, accumulate experience to improve technical expertise and select excellent players to participate in higher-level competitions.

Thu Dau Mot Ward Sports Festival organized 10 competitions, including: Men's and women's soccer, men's and women's volleyball, badminton, table tennis, chess, cross-country, aerobics, billiards, tug of war, and stick pushing.
