In recent weeks, the situation of teenagers driving electric motorbikes, motorbikes, speeding, weaving, doing wheelies... on Hung Vuong Street, Luong Van Tri Ward has decreased significantly, traffic safety is ensured.

Ms. Dang Ngoc Linh, No. 44, Hung Vuong Street shared: In the past, late at night I still heard the sound of motorbikes revving and swerving by groups of young people. But over the past month, this situation has decreased significantly thanks to the authorities regularly checking and setting up checkpoints to handle violations.

Captain Hoang Minh Tien, Deputy Captain of Traffic Police Team No. 1, Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Police, said: Since the beginning of June, the unit has handled about 100 cases of students and teenagers violating traffic safety regulations.

Although patrolling and controlling have somewhat raised children's awareness, violations still occur on many roads such as not wearing helmets, driving in threes or fours, weaving, recklessly overtaking, and driving underage.

Faced with this situation, the Traffic Police force has deployed many synchronous measures. In particular, patrols are carried out in the form of public and public combined with disguise during rush hours, when violations often occur.

In addition to handling violations, the authorities also focus on propagating and disseminating knowledge of traffic laws to students. The forms of propaganda have been flexibly innovated, such as: organizing students to write commitments not to re-offend, sending notices of coordination with families and schools... Thereby contributing to forming self-awareness, raising the sense of responsibility when participating in traffic among teenagers.

The forms of propaganda combined with handling violations have initially shown effectiveness. Nguyen Duc Anh, an 11th grade student at Viet Bac High School, who was once punished for not wearing a helmet while driving, shared: I thought I was driving close by so I didn't wear a helmet, but only after being punished did I understand the consequences. From now on, I will comply with the regulations.

According to statistics from the Provincial Traffic Police Department, from the beginning of 2025 to now, the authorities have issued fines for over 900 violations involving students and teenagers; the fine amount is about 880 million VND; 485 motorbikes and 73 other vehicles have been temporarily detained. Compared to the same period in 2024, the number of violations has decreased by more than 50%.

Besides the involvement of authorities, management andeducation from the family also play a key role.

Ms. Duong Thu Ha, Phu Loc Street, Dong Kinh Ward said: When the police called to report my child's violation, I found out that he took the car out for a ride. After that, my family took turns monitoring, reminding, and explaining to my child the risk of accidents if he violated traffic laws.

At the same time, the youth union at all levels has also actively participated in many creative and appropriate forms. Since the beginning of the year, the youth union at all levels in the province has effectively implemented propaganda work on traffic safety, organizing 175 parades with nearly 2,800 union members and youth participating in propaganda on main roads and densely populated areas.

In particular, right from the first month of the summer vacation, in 65 wards and communes, the Youth Union at all levels proactively organized thematic activities, distributed leaflets and integrated traffic law games into summer activities in residential areas. Thereby, helping children absorb knowledge in a more gentle and lively way.

Ms. Nong Thi Thuong Huyen, Secretary of the Youth Union of Cua Nam block, Luong Van Tri ward, said: Every month, the Youth Union organizes summer activities twice, the content of the activities always incorporates propaganda about traffic safety. This helps children absorb and remember naturally.

In the coming time, the provincial authorities will continue to maintain regular inspections and handling of violations, while promoting diverse and creative propaganda. The goal is to help young people, especially students, not only understand the legal regulations but also develop self-awareness and culture when participating in traffic safely and responsibly.
