On the morning of July 17, in Hanoi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung chaired a conference to review the work of the first 6 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of the year.

According to the report, in the first 6 months of 2025, the entire Culture, Sports and Tourism sector has closely followed and synchronously implemented and focused on the task of reviving and developing Vietnamese culture.

In particular, on June 26, 2025, the 1st Congress of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, term 2025 - 2030, promoted the spirit of "Culture is the foundation - Information is the conduit - Sports is the strength - Tourism is the connecting bridge". From there, step by step, continue to affirm the viewpoint "Culture must light the way for the nation", "Culture must be placed on par with economics, politics and society".

Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh reported a summary of the results of the implementation of tasks in the first 6 months of the year.

In the first 6 months of 2025, the Ministry has been proactive, leading, directing decisively, promptly, flexibly, and comprehensively in all areas of work. The Ministry has a firm grasp of the situation and practical requirements to propose appropriate and effective solutions and policies.

The Ministry focused on directing the resolution of outstanding issues from the previous period; reviewing the implementation of decentralization and delegation in the field of culture, sports and tourism when implementing the 2-level local government organization model. Reform work, cutting administrative procedures; resolving difficulties and obstacles for projects, and promoting the disbursement of public investment capital were promoted.

Tourism has grown impressively, continuing to be a bright spot in contributing to the country's socio-economic development. The total number of international visitors in the first 6 months of the year reached more than 10.6 million, up 20.7% over the same period. Total revenue is estimated at about 518 trillion VND.

Activities to preserve and promote cultural heritage have been effectively implemented. Press, communication and publishing have seen many positive changes. The fight against bad and toxic information has been carried out regularly and continuously.

Mass physical education and sports movements have developed strongly; high-performance sports have made progress. Cultural and entertainment industries have developed positively with many unique and creative cultural products and activities.

The comments and opinions of localities vividly illustrated the achievements of the industry across the country.

Cultural diplomacy has many bright spots, changing the mindset from "Meeting and Exchange" to "True Cooperation". Many activities, programs, and cooperation documents on culture, sports and tourism were organized and signed during visits by high-ranking leaders of the Party and State.

In the last 6 months of the year, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism focused on guiding and implementing decentralization and authority assignment in the sector's fields when organizing 2-level local government.

The Ministry continues to implement tasks of developing science, technology, innovation, digital transformation, administrative reform and Project 06; focusing on reviewing legal regulations to promptly remove bottlenecks to serve the development of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation activities in accordance with the characteristics of the culture, sports and tourism sector.
